Homesense North East?

7 replies

suzie942 · 03/03/2020 22:44

I hear lots of people online rave about homesense and I recently watched a few YouTube videos (Gemma Miles) and the homesense she went to looked so good but there's a few near me in tk max stores which are crap - team valley, Sunderland and Metrocentre. Haven't tried Newcastle but heard it's not much better. In the process of buying a house so looking for nice decor. Can anyone recommend a good homesense worth going to apart from the ones mentioned, in the north east? Preferably no more than an hour away.

York are opening a big new one at monks cross

I go to the one at York fairly often and I love it.
The one near Leeds Ikea (Batley) is good too.

I don’t bother with the ones inside tkmax as they always disappoint me.

I think I'll try the one at York then. Might pop up next Friday when I'm off work as if I suggest to my partner we go at the weekend he will definitely lose the will to live 🤣

@JollyAndBright is there any other home related shops around the homesense in York that you'd advise? as if it will take me around 1.5 hours to get there so might aswell make the most of it.

@suzie942

Where the HS is there is a big home bargains (One of my favourites) and a B&M.
We usually go to homesense and then my DP will go to Starbucks while I go in Home bargains as he hates how much I love a slow wander around them both and he can only manage one before loosing the will to live. 😂

There’s also a Lidl and a big Morrisons and a pets at home.

It’s not far into the City centre from there so will usually move the car to a somewhere nearby (DP works 10 minutes away from there) and then have a walk into town and a wander around or maybe go for lunch (usually to brew York if it’s the weekend, as it’s only a 5 min walk from there).

We live about 40 minutes away, so go into York quite often.

@JollyAndBright oh I do love a good wander around b&ms aswell! it's actually my birthday next week so I may suggest we stay over the night and just not mention the home shopping bit until we get there... I've got the poor man dreaming about home shops 😂
