Mine was randomly "Ain't that just the way" by Lutricia McNeal, a song I literally haven't heard or thought about since I was about 16!

Stop in the name of love, by the Supremes. DH is in a tribute band and he's been fiddling about practising the lead guitar part all evening. Interspersed with others, but coming back to it again and again. And again.

Oh well, at least it wasn't the guitar solo in 'In Dulce Jubilo', which he drove me crazy with one December a few years ago...

"I wanna be a hippy". God knows, I must have read something that triggered it. Did you know not everyone has a song playing constantly in their head? I didn't until very recently as my internal radio is always on.

I've had the Icelandic entry to Eurovision stuck in my head the last few days.

It's funny and sweet and about getting to know your new baby

"The lyrics in Think About Things are some of the most personal I have written. The song is about my little girl who was born in April of last year. I am talking about the feeling you get in the first few days and weeks where you know that you love this person with all your heart even though you don’t really get that much interaction. In the start she doesn’t do so much, so I am very excited to know what she thinks about all kinds of things. Now she is almost 10 months and has become such a character so the lyrics don’t really apply as much anymore, she is starting to let us know what she is thinking." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_About_Things

(I reckon it'll be in Reykjavik next year Grin )

ALongHardWinter · 04/03/2020 00:50

Oh yeah by Roxy Music.

Squeeze Tempted. And now I hate it.
Saw them recently.

Tillygetsit · 04/03/2020 02:51

Gangnam Style. Thanks a bunch, DS.

PenguinsOnParade · 04/03/2020 02:57

I've been going between ELO Mr Blue Sky and Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. Not sure you could get much different but it's been the weirdest mix.

Chop Suey System of a Down

Whatevah · 04/03/2020 05:46

“I’m Edie McCreadie, I love to drive,
Hop aboard my bus, enjoy the ride...”
I don’t know why but this is a regular ear worm of mine. Bloody annoying. My kids are all well past CBEEBIES, so not like it’s ever on in our house. I can’t even remember any of the other songs from Balamory, but Edie McCready and her bloomin’ Bus are permanently stuck in my head!

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 04/03/2020 06:08

Work put up 'wash your hands properly' sign.
As i was washing my hands I was reading it. It had the 'Happy birthday' rules on it.
Happy birthday in my head all blinking day

sockittome123 · 04/03/2020 07:21

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna Whose name have you been singing then? Grin

Right now I have Bad Guy by Billie Eilish in my head, but over the last few days it's flitted from Tell Him (Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand), One Moment in Time (Whitney Houston) and, bizarrely, Mother Knows Best from Tangled. (I have not looked at, heard of, or seen that film for roughly ten years.)

RockyisMYRhino · 04/03/2020 07:26

I've been humming and singing the cocomelon yes yes vegetables song for about a week now! Thanks for that DS.

bruffin · 04/03/2020 07:30

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/03/2020 08:15

Mr Ed the talking horse. I don’t know where it’s came from

AnotherMurkyDay · 04/03/2020 08:21

My heads like the best of Disney this morning. Hakuna Matata, I wanna be like you and the Bare Necessities already this morning

UnitedRoad · 04/03/2020 09:25

@Whatevah I always have
‘I’m Archie, the inventor
I know how things are done
I can make you absolutely anything
Inventing things is fun’

They might not even be the right words. My kids are 21 and 18 so it’s been a long time since Ive watched it, but it’s often in my head, and sometimes out loud.

Bogoffrain · 04/03/2020 09:26

Knock 3 times on the ceiling if you want me...........🤣

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 04/03/2020 20:21

Sockittime
I haven't actually got as far as the name before cursing myself! Grin

I did test the length of hand washing with the song and dedicated that song to Boris! Grin

SapphireSeptember · 04/03/2020 20:28

I forgive (but I won't forget your name) by Lacuna Coil. Damned catchy song. (I've been listening to them a lot recently and that one has got stuck in my brain.)

SapphireSeptember · 04/03/2020 20:30

FudgeBrownie2019 · 04/03/2020 20:32

Erasure A Little Respect. I sang it on karaoke when I was spangled last week and have been singing it since. I didn't even know I'd sung it til my friend sent me a video of my beautiful rendition via Messenger on Sunday evening.

FaisPasCiFaisPasCa · 04/03/2020 20:33

This is one you can build into everyday life, every time you make an involuntary sound-which is a lot as you get older Grin

QueSera · 04/03/2020 20:36

Scarborough Fair, Simon & Garfunkle
