How do you keep your kitchen floor clean?

We're looking at getting a new kitchen and thinking about either Polyflor vinyl or laminate floor. We currently have a tiled floor which I vacuum / sweep and wash with a floor mop. But the cleaning instructions for laminate and vinyl all seem to say that you shouldn't wet mop it - how do you keep a kitchen floor hygienic and clean if you can't wash it?

You can wet it, just don't over wet it. Use a damp flat mop rather than the old fashioned string mops that slop water all over the place.
