How’s your new year resolution?

Did you bother with a new year resolution?
I did, I resolved to not buy any clothes this year, so far so good. I have bought some new pants but saw them as necessary rather than indulgent.
So how is your resolution holding up?
(My other resolution was to lose 2stone but that’s just not happening)

Well done with the clothing!

Do you still want to lose the 2 stone? Taking any steps towards it?

Mine was to start exercising, I'm doing really well IMO. I run three times a week, I've been building up slowly and just hit the 5km!

My other one was to declutter my life, I've started, I'm making progress but could do more

Thank you for starting this thread, OP

My NYR was to give up drinking until 1st March and to lose my Christmas weight. This lasted two weeks so I'm now dieting for Lent.

Over the last few years, I've realised that NYRs don't work for me because January/February are fucking depressing and depriving myself of things (e.g. not drinking) or feeling like I have to do things (e.g. do more exercise) just add to how bloody miserable I feel.

A friend of mine does new month resolutions which I absolutely love the idea of. So, over a year she'll potentially develop 12 new positive habits Smile

I've been ridiculously chuffed with myself this year. It's the first year I've kept my resolutions. Which were: lose weight, cut down alcohol and save money.

I've only drunk 3 times this year. Lost about 2 stones and given up daily coffee (still have free coffee at home and work) and brought in packed lunches every day. That combined with not drinking and I've saved loads so far. Just need to keep at it though. Beginning to get bored of my packed lunches so need to mix it up a bit before I fall off the wagon.

@2020runner. Yes, I’ve joined a new, better gym, my last gym was very disappointing. (Limited hours, hardly no classes just once daily hiit, creepy gym manager etc) I’m in a lovely gym now. Working and sweating hard to shift that menopausal tyre! I love my days at the gym.
@SickOFant, I totally agree January and February are depressing months. I should drink less too, it would help my weight loss. Loving the new month resolutions idea too.
@PickleSarnue, well done on all your achievements.
