Tax credits and holiday clubs?

Can I ask how people who get tax credits towards childcare costs deal with additional holiday club costs?

My mum has always looked after DCs over the holidays but due to a colossal falling out this is no longer an option (or at least not right now). Because I work I'm going to have to look into holiday clubs. I get tax credits weekly based on what I pay during term time. How do I go about claiming for holiday club costs?

I guess if it’s regular you’d add it on to the total childcare per year and claim an average of your costs. If there’s an increase of more than £10/week (or whatever it is) then you need to call them and amend your claim

I use holiday clubs so intermittently that I just pay myself and don’t claim

Tax credits, unlike any other related service are incredibly helpful and actually give you correct information. Give them a call and they'll talk you through it
