Poor DH

He has been job searching for a month and it has been hard. He had an interview last week and it seemed to go well, it’s an industry he knows well but in a different role. He was told he’d find out today. There was no word so he put in a quick call to see if they could let him know. The girl he interviewed with said everyone would be contacted this afternoon to confirm. Still no word back and he said from her tone of voice he knew he hadn’t got it. He’s gutted as he really wanted this role. :(

When last week was the interview
Did they give a timescale for feedback?

It could be they were genuinely still deliberating or still interviewing until late last week?

It was Thursday, they said they would decide and callback today.

I think it must be hard as for instance my company put recruitment freeze in place since last week.
Fingers crossed for him because I had many rejections in the past. And who knows what is the current situation going to bring to all of us.

Ah thats a shame. If they cant have the decency to let him know would he really want to work there anyway?
Is he between jobs right now

He is between jobs but they did say they would let the unsuccessful candidates know. There were 5 people interviewed. They did say they were chaotic and understaffed right now, hence the recruitment. Hopefully it’s just that they are crazy busy but would be nice to have a definitive answer.

Maybe he is second choice and they have offered to someone but keeping him on hold in case the other person declines?

I think they've just been too busy to call and will probably do it tomorrow.
