Waiting at neighbours parking

I live in a 5 storied building. There was an instance when I wanted to carry heavy IKEA box form my car to the building. Because my allocated parking space is few years away from the building entrance, I thought to use empty parking space right next to the building entrance simply to unload the box. Neighbour saw me using her space and started abusing. Her car was not there as her husband takes car to work. She was simply not happy that I used her space to unload. I understand that we should not park at others places but my question is am I doing something illegal to even wait at someones parking space for few seconds?

Not illegal but guaranteed to majorly piss off your neighbours, as you found out.
