Would you choose a bigger house and garden, but not in quite as good an area, or a slightly smaller house but with much smaller garden but in a better area.

Depends on how good the not so good area is. If it’s a war zone, then clearly the smaller house, but if it’s a perfectly good area then the larger one in the less good area.

I'm just watching a property programme and the guy just said, always buy the worst house in the best street.

Do you like both areas and could you see yourself living in both? Usually the answer is location location location, but not if it’s a minimal difference, and not if it means you won’t enjoy your home as much.

Oh, and do houses move quickly in the less good area?

It's a perfectly good area but in a london borough. The other is just over m25 in essex but seen as a more "premium" area by locals!

We had this problem.

We didn't choose either in the end. We waited.... and got a big house in a nice area. It needed a lot of work which was how we were able to afford it. But I'm so glad we didnt get the small house or the crap area.
