How often do you clean...

So, MN loves a 'how often do you hoover/clean' thread, with answers ranging from hourly to yearly Grin

But, my question is... How often do you clean the difficult places. Eg behind the sofa... Behind the fridge or cooker.

Mine is about three times a year

When i loose something behind / under them!

Lottieskeeper · 01/03/2020 19:12

Behind the sofa about 4 times a year but I didn't know that anyone cleaned behind the fridge or cooker. Possibly when one breaks and we buy a replacement but never apart from that.

Barbararara · 01/03/2020 19:24

If I have to pull out an appliance for some reason I clean behind it before pushing it back in.

The dc are constantly moving the sofa to make room for dance routines and war games so it gets hoovered around and under regularly.

JhustJenny · 01/03/2020 19:26

Almost never behind fridge unless I’m redecorating or something... behind sofa... once a yeah... meh! I’d rather sit on my arse

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/03/2020 19:28

Behind the sofa once every 2-3 months- under my bed 2 x a year

isseywith4vampirecats · 01/03/2020 19:28

cooker and fridge hardly ever sofas once a week rest of the week I just hoover round the bed once a year as its so heavy to move

raspberryk · 01/03/2020 19:31

When we replace them/move home/decorate.

ThinkPinkStink · 01/03/2020 19:32

Only clean under / behind white goods when I have a reason to move them.

I clean under and behind the sofas, and under the beds every couple of weeks, but we live in one of those houses which seems to create dust.

sauvignonblancplz · 01/03/2020 19:34

Behind sofa every other day - we have animals so it’s a necessity.
Pull out the beds etc once a week.
Hoover the main living areas every day, mop every other day.
Polish , Hoover , mop other rooms once a week. Bathroom cleaned every other day , wiped down most evenings.
Beds stripped and changed once a week.

Guacamole · 01/03/2020 19:34

I move my sofa every week to hoover underneath it, I lift off the cushions and hoover under them once a week too. Doesn’t take long. I clean my fridge weekly, but can’t pull it out to clean under or behind, so that’ll be never. I do pull out the washing machine, tumbles drier and dishwasher and do them but probably once every 1-2 months.

sauvignonblancplz · 01/03/2020 19:36

**frisge and dishwasher would pull out and clean twice a year , oven cleaned every 6weeks or so. We use oven liners which are brilliant . Was and rinse them once or twice a week.

PickledLilly · 01/03/2020 19:37

I clean under/behind my sofa every week or two but that’s because I have filth pig children who post all manner of crap behind it so it’s always revolting. The fridge gets done a couple of times a year and the cooker never, because it’s enormous and weighs loads.

ratsel · 01/03/2020 19:40

Fridge and other white goods, every couple of months.

One sofa every week or two

Other sofa (far too big and heavy to move easily) about once a year Blush

Beds I stick the hoover under weekly but only pull them out to do properly about once or twice a year.

I feel very slovenly reading some of these responses.

IWishItWasSummer · 01/03/2020 19:40

Sofa and appliances are pulled out every week - we have dogs and the hair gets trapped underneath. The sofa gets hoovered daily and floors get hoovered and washed daily. Toilets wiped down daily and steam cleaned at the weekend, the same with under the beds. Skirtings are done most days as they get dirty with the dogs. Windowsills done weekly as is dusting. Beds changed once a week. Fridge is a weekly clean and kitchen cupboards emptied and cleaned every month.

weegiemum · 01/03/2020 19:42

White goods - clean behind? When we get new ones!!

Sofa - about 4 times a year. When MIL comes to stay, she loves pointing out that she's swept behind the sofa when it got pulled out for her bed.

Mop floors (all tiles/laminate) weekly, hoover beforehand. Spot sweep them most days. Hoover rugs weekly. We have a dog but he has a poodle coat so very little shedding.

LazyFace · 01/03/2020 19:54

Behind the fridge and cooker.... only when we have to move them. Behind sofas approx once a month.

Lipperfromchipper · 01/03/2020 20:00

I don’t have a “Behind the sofa” as such but I clean behind the beds every few months I suppose. I have lived in my house for two years but I actually don’t have a “cooker” either, I have a separate hob and ovens, they are built in so never yet!!Same for the fridge...but inside the fridge gets cleaned most sundays.

My house is VERY low maintenance( I built and designed it so I had less to do as such! But I tip away all week and mop/hoover weekly at least.

TheFluffiestCat · 01/03/2020 20:08

Fridge and cooker are built in. Behind washing machine, only if the 12th of Never falls on a blue moon. Smaller sofa maybe 3 times a year. Huge corner sofa that's an absolute bastard to move - if the cat loses a mouse in the house or about once a year otherwise.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 01/03/2020 20:17

How often do you clean the difficult places. Eg behind the sofa... Behind the fridge or cooker never unless we have to move them for some reason and even then it's only a quick Hoover and/or wipe down.

Sheepareawesome · 01/03/2020 20:19

Never. If you can't see it, it isn't dirty!

BarbedBloom · 01/03/2020 20:23

Once a month normally. We end up having to move the sofas because twatcat1 likes to push her toys under there and then cry repeatedly until we get them out so I run a quick Hoover round at the same time. I also dislike spiders and when I used to leave it six months or so there would be giant ones underneath, now we don't get them anymore

BarbedBloom · 01/03/2020 20:24

Oh and I also get bored and end up moving rooms round a lot Grin Again, cats also get themselves stuck behind the bloody fridge too

7dayslater · 01/03/2020 21:14

Oh - I try and pretend those places don't exist!

I do have to clean under the sofa fairly regularly though as toddler DS finds it hilarious to store toys, books and raisins under there.
