Sundays can be tough days for us & I took myself off for a couple of short walks to calm down earlier! Still, overall the day is going well. We took one of our bunnies to the vet for a jab, then bought some hay. Popped into where I work to get a few bits & look at tablelamps, then Tesco’s on the way home. Yummy peppery pasties for lunch. DD & I had a game of UNO. Loved that as a kid myself. DD has just impressed me by preparing & frying her own recipe potato cakes. They smell amazing! Was pretty impressed with her gluten free pancakes on Shrove Tuesday too!

Watching fairy stories on YouTube with the small one whilst poor DH is doing maths homework with a very stroppy big one. Tidied up this morning and I always feel more relaxed in a tidy house.
Roast in the oven.
Nice calm Sunday for us

Theonewiththecat · 01/03/2020 17:26

We went for a Costa this morning.
Made sausage butties for lunch 😍
Dd has spent the afternoon building her lego friends camper thing.
Me and dp have spent the afternoon messing about, dancing around and tidying the living room and kitchen. (More messing than tidying)
Just waiting for the food shop to be delivered.
dd is chilling in the bath before dinner.
Then I'll have another quick tidy round the kitchen and I'll sit on the sofa and not move again until bedtime.

Lifesabeach86 · 01/03/2020 17:46

Walk in the forest, birthday party, bike ride and now snuggled up after a roast watching Beethoven.

Frownette · 01/03/2020 17:48

I'm recovering from gastric flu so had a poached egg on toast for breakfast, watched some episodes of miami vice then went for a walk and to a couple of shops.

FaithInfinity · 01/03/2020 17:55

Watching the Caraboa cup final, come on the villa!

LittleSweet · 01/03/2020 18:06

Wow, Marmite27, your dcs are brave! I traumatized ds1 when he was three with Finding Nemo!
Ds1 has been doing last minute practice for his gcse food tech exam. He's made it twice and it's still not right. He sat on his phone at one point as there 'was nothing to do'. He was massively mistaken. I'm fed up with being bad cop.
Ds2 has been on xbox in his room. I saw him for ten minutes while he ate lunch.
Dh has done housework jobs and was meant to be prodding ds1 in the kitchen. But he's good cop, so I had to do it.
I've just walked the dog. Feels better that it's March. Did some crochet.
Ddog has lost his tennis ball he took for his walk under the sofa, which I'm not getting out as it's soaked in his saliva.

H1978 · 01/03/2020 18:09

Chill day today

Pasta bake in oven waiting for dh to return from his weekend away

Teen dds doing homework and youngest playing slime

LittleSweet · 01/03/2020 18:15

BiBiBirdie, I hope you are okay. 💐

MotherPupper · 01/03/2020 18:29

Well, my quiet Sunday got shit a bit quick! Kids pissed about and didn't eat their dinner, DH fannied about and annoyed me and now the kitchen is a tip for fuck all!!!

DH has taken the kids to bed on his own because I've had enough!

BiBiBirdie · 01/03/2020 19:32

Honestly @LittleSweet, I don't know. I've always found him condescending at times but this takes the prize.

MistyIsland · 01/03/2020 19:45

Been to see family this morning, we walked the dog, enjoyed a rare sunny half an hour in the garden before the rain came again...

Had a full English breakfast for dinner as this is what the kids wanted 🤷‍♀️ And I really didn’t fancy cooking a roast today.

Kids have gone to bed (I showered them this morning so we didn’t have the normal Sunday evening routine) and now I’m snuggled up under a blanket with my Bengal cat on my lap, the fire is blazing, watching some documentary that Dh has put on the tv.

Holymolymackerel · 01/03/2020 19:49

We all had a lie in then bacon and egg sandwich for brunch. Then off to the allotment to do more prep.

Came home and had early baths and hair washing for dd8 and ds6.

Then spellings and reading for ds and fractions practise for dd.

Dh preparing our dinner of ham salad, dcs are in bed reading.

Listening to the radio and chilling.

lachy · 01/03/2020 19:50

DD is in bed.

DH is downstairs watching some of his crap telly

I'm soaking in the bath, which, I might add is absolutely amazing. I've run some rubbish baths lately...too cold, not bubbly enough, wrong bubble bath etc, but this one is spot on!

YourVagesty · 01/03/2020 19:52

We just had a chicken roast for dinner (thanks DH), then DH unwrapped some Starburst for me (just painted my nails).

We are now watching TV in bed (Star Trek Voyager. Top cheesiness) with dDog.

Happy Sundaying people!

YourVagesty · 01/03/2020 19:54

Lachy I'm envious and know the struggle well! I'm definitely due a 'perfect' bath.

Kim82 · 01/03/2020 19:55

Both Dh and ds(18) went out drinking last night so they were both a bit delicate today and stayed in bed til lunchtime. Dd(15) and dd(12) stayed out last night too so there was just me and dd(5) up and about this morning. We went to the park and to feed the ducks, took her to McDonald’s for lunch then to her friend’s birthday party. Party finished at 4pm so I did a round trip, picked up the two older girls then went home for tea.

Right now the 5 year old is asleep in bed, the 12 year old is up in her room (no idea what she’s doing) and me, dh, ds and dd are in the living room watching tv.

bloodywhitecat · 01/03/2020 19:59

Went for a walk along the estuary this morning with the puppy (5 months old), our foster toddler (3 years old), foster baby (16 weeks) and DP. Walked 3 miles, FB in a sling, my upper back hurts a bit now as at 56 I am not as young as I once was. Went to Aldi on the way home for a lawnmower, nappies and baby milk. Came home, cooked dinner, ate dinner, made flapjacks for lunch boxes, put the toddler to bed and have just rocked foster baby into submission and he too, is now asleep. Puppy is sleeping in front of the woodburner and DP is watching Dr. Who (yawn).

Teacup34 · 01/03/2020 20:21

Quiet Sunday for us no church as youngest DD unwell. Pottered around this morning dinner prep, washing while three DDs got out every single toy they own!! Had lunch and went out to feed the ducks and scour the charity shops for an outfit for eldest DD since school gave us about 2 mins notice that they were having a Victorian day on tues. Came home had a roast and apple crumble. DDs now in bed while I have a bubble bath and much needed glass of wine before I tackle the pile of pots and put away 9 million toys!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/03/2020 20:30

We've not long finished a (winner winner) chicken dinner and now I'm watching Speed and drinking wine while DH packs up an ebay parcel and the DSs play computer games. Love Sunday evening...

BarbedBloom · 01/03/2020 20:38

We have done very little today. Husband did laundry and hoovering earlier while I lay in bed - bad day for my chronic condition. I have written 2,000 words for my book. I caught up on my many podcasts and we are going to watch Memories of Murder in a minute. I love a lazy Sunday now and then but am annoyed I didn't nip out to retie my jasmine to its pole as there was an hour of clear skies and heavy rain again ever since

mamaduckbone · 01/03/2020 20:46

We've had a lovely Sunday for the first time in ages - the sunshine makes all the difference.
Dh and I watched ds2's rugby training this morning, then all went for a walk at a country park after lunch - even ds1,14, who was in a lovely mood (for a change!)
I did some prep for work this afternoon whilst dh cooked a roast and the dcs did homework, chilled and gamed. Dh and I snuck out for a swift half at the pub before dinner, now we're all watching a film.
Proper nice family day.Smile

bigchris · 01/03/2020 20:54

@FaithInfinity gutted for them!

Littleshortcake · 01/03/2020 20:59

I spent the day cleaning (kondo style- several bags gone out of the house). Went shopping for toy storage. Washed all the woodwork in the house (skirtings etc) as getting a bit of carpet fitted. Literally spent five hours on housework (maybe more) so we went out for coffee this evening and I had a nice treat. Came home and decluttered some more. I will sleep tonight. That's my spring cleaning done Grin

FaithInfinity · 01/03/2020 21:10

Thanks bigchris. They played a good game though, proud of them all. Poor Jack Grealish looked gutted though Sad

Gigia · 01/03/2020 21:15

Had my nails done this morning then just chilled out during the day. Just cooked for DS(18) and his gf. DH is abroad so now ddog and I are going to curl up on the sofa watching crap. Needed a quiet day after a mad week and loads of cleaning yesterday. Planning on an early night as have another super busy week.
