Failing at mooncup

Inatightsqueeze · 01/03/2020 12:47

So this is my second period trying out a mooncup. By the end of my last one I thought I had it nailed, but this time I just can't seem to get it right. It's either painful or leaking.
I struggle to get it to pop back into shape after inserting it. I've even lost it at one point (God bless Dh)

Has anyone any tips on where I'm going wrong?

I just came on to find this thread again as I just saw the news about possible prolapse one the news. I've been considering switching to mooncups but have been hesitating as I find tampons fiddly and mooncups seem even harder to manipulate.

@CircleofWillis don't let this put you off a mooncup. The advice is not to bear down to get it out - personally I don't find I need to. I just go into a deep squat position and it moves naturally to a position where I can reach it easily.

How long have mooncups been around?

I had never heard of them until I joined mumsnet. Being ancient I haven't needed anything like that for over 10 years.
