The 8 month sleep regression

SleepSleepSleepPLEASE · 01/03/2020 11:03

DC is 8 months, previously was sleeping 7-7 with no wakes (maybe one on the odd night where a quick cuddle would get her back down to sleep straight away) is no longer sleeping.

She wakes literally every 2 hours, she doesn’t want food, just a cuddle. Then at around 4am she wakes, She will fall asleep in mine or DH’s arms but as soon as we put her back down in the cot, she’s wide awake and screaming again until 7am.

She’s then grumpy and groggy all bloody day, we’re also so so tired.

I suppose I’m asking if there is anything I can do to help her get back to sleeping as before or is it really just a ‘get through it’ kind of situation.

Unfortunately we still haven't got back to the great pre-regression sleep! She's 13months now.

We had this. It’s linked to the time they develop separation anxiety. It lasted three weeks but left just as quickly as it started. Sounds like you already had a good sleeper so once she’s through this development leap you’ll get that back.

Oh no 99, I feel awful for moaning about mine now.

Thanks Need it’s just so difficult she wasn’t even this bad as a newborn so it’s very much come as a shock.
