I’m being thick but I just want to make sure I’m thinking straight here because I’m very tired
DS has been generally unwell since Wednesday, developed a rash yesterday, so I called 111, went to the out of hours GP, and he’s been diagnosed with scarlet fever (
). He has antibiotics and antihistamines for the rash.
The antibiotics have to be taken 4 times a day at ‘regular intervals’, on an empty stomach, which according to the instructions means 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food. I think it’s the ‘or’ that’s scrambling my tired brain a bit here...
So my proposed schedule is as follows:
6.30 - dose one
7.30 - breakfast
10.00 - dose two
11.00 - snack
12.00 - lunch
2.00 - dose three
5.00 - dinner
7.00 - dose 4 and bed
He’ll probably have a bit of banana or something as an afternoon snack in there too, but only if he says he’s hungry.
Does that look right? I can’t think how to space the doses out better while also feeding DS, keeping each dose on an empty stomach, and not getting him up or putting him to bed too early / late...
We have had one illness after another since Christmas and I haven’t had a full night’s sleep since mid-January so if this seems really simple - please be kind, I am a very tired woman
