What shall I do for my 40th?

What shall I do for my 40th?

I have a twin who I am unfortunately NC with so it’s going to be a bittersweet celebration.

My close group of friends are keen to do something memorable. Other big birthdays have been quite stressful over the years so my friends are keen to make my 40th one to remember.

I’m not a fan of surprise parties and being the one who all the attention is focussed on but I do like the idea of marking it in some way. I have a couple of friendship groups who all know each other and like each other from being at hen dos, weddings, parties and other events over the years.

I also have my DH who isn’t a huge fan of fuss for himself but he has mentioned wanting to sort a holiday of some kind out for us. He is awful at keeping secrets! We went on a week break away just the two of us for his 40th last year and I planned some little surprises for him while we were there.

What do you WANT to do? City break? With friends or DH? Hot air balloon ride? Go Ape? Michelin starred meal? Drink yourself daft and dance on the tables to 90s tunes? Countryside cottage? All of the above? Grin

I did exactly what I wanted. So DH and I went to Rome for 4 days. I'm an introvert too.

Pom Bear 🐻 I love the idea of a 90s themed get together with my friends. Maybe in a cottage or somewhere with a hot tub.

Minnie, Rome sounds lovely. Such a romantic place to go with your DH.

I think I might have a few celebrations. Not like I'm the queen or anything but might just make the most of it. I think a night away with my friends and then a weekend away with the DH. Oooh and a camping trip so I can take my two poochies. They would hate to miss out!

You could go 40 things to celebrate your 40th year, that way you get to do all of the above!

Toothfairy that's a brilliant idea! I think I will do that. Just need to get my thinking head on now. Excited!

Mine is later in the year. Planning on a European city break with DH. No kids, for 4 whole nights. Heaven. Hate the idea of a party or even trying to organise a meal.
