Typingclub

Another vote for typing club.

BBC has one but typing club is simpler and easier to follow independently.

One that has a login so it saves progress.

MamasAndPapas · 29/02/2020 13:21

BBC Dance Mats - free and remembers progress.

Typing club...I'm a teacher and we have used it at school and the kids love it!

@Handsnotwands yup. Even the staff got into it at one point Smile

My mum taught me to type as a kid as I’m dyslexic from her experience and a book and it was invaluable as I did loads of work on the computer, hope you find something helpful

Typing.com is what I used to learn to touch type as an adult and I think it would be perfect for kids. And it is free.

It has reward based touch typing formats and grades your progress. It Times you and gives accuracy feedback including being able to tell you problem areas. It also has games.

My boys used Jumpstart typing, and did really well with it. Cheap for a used one on amazon £5 ish.
They started it when they were 5 or 6 years old.

Children in my class loved dance mat typing. It’s got some silly characters that make them laugh and they get certificates for each stage passed.

TonOfLead · 29/02/2020 18:58

Another vote for dance mats.
