Well fear not wash your hands with soap and water before and after you enter each new door have it a house door car door or even a fridge door there’s a good girl

SciFiRules · 28/02/2020 23:01

I think the less contact Enid has with the world, the better... artists, engineers and scientists in rocket ship 1, telephone hygienists and estate agents in rocket ship 2!

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 23:06

another thread that puts me off posting on here

“another thread that puts me off posting on here”

Phew

amaryl · 28/02/2020 23:10

How would you catch it exactly?

And if everyone was scared of passing it in to the elderly, there would be no-one to work with them

SciFiRules · 28/02/2020 23:16

OP. OK you have had a hard time here. But to put it in perspective there are about 20 cases in the UK, for most people the infection is not serious. Relax a little, the stress is probably more harmful to you than the virus.

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 23:18

i know, the stress is doing my head in

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 23:19

I tell myself not to worry, but then i watch/read/listen to the news, read any threads on here and the stress is back up.
i go and look after old/ill people and the stress is up again.

I can't be alone in thinking this.

PaulGalico · 28/02/2020 23:21

This is a ridiculous thread.

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 23:22

why thank you

OP posts:
PaulGalico · 28/02/2020 23:23

No problem

TorkTorkBam · 28/02/2020 23:24

What are you afraid will happen? What are the scenarios of DOOM?

Lunafortheloveogod · 28/02/2020 23:27

So your clients, considering they require carers, are highly unlikely to have returned from China or anywhere there’s actually been a major outbreak?

They’re also highly unlikely to have a buzzing social life with people who have recently been in those areas..

So why would you be more likely to catch it from them than Jim n Sadie who’s sons school trip from Italy’s just back/just came home from Tenerife?

You obviously don’t go into work if you’re ill in the first place so if you were symptomatic you wouldn’t be in.. I know it takes two weeks to show symptoms but has it been confirmed by a medical professional not the daily fail that you actually spread it before you develop symptoms.

everythingisginandroses · 28/02/2020 23:28

@PaulGalico, you just made me burst out laughing. How do you make it look so easy? Grin

Cheermeupplease22 · 28/02/2020 23:29

OP if you are this anxious I think you should definitely give up your second job, at least for the time being. It’s totally fine to do that.

SD1978 · 28/02/2020 23:30

No nurses have died in China. And the one doctor it's still a 50/50 for me if it was legit Corona or the govt. you're being more than a tad dramatic. Don't want to work, don't. This is a weak excuse though.

eaglejulesk · 28/02/2020 23:31

If you don't need the job, and have been thinking about leaving, then just do it and keep quiet about it. Your post comes across as ridiculous - imagine if everyone thought as you do, what a wonderful world it would be.

SD1978 · 28/02/2020 23:31

And front line nurse- not scared at all thanks- and won't be quitting work anytime soon either.

FlamedToACrisp · 28/02/2020 23:31

I'm with you, @EnidBlyton. I worked as a cleaner in a doctor's surgery. One day they said, make sure you clean really thoroughly because some of our patients have MRSA. I finished my shift and never returned!

JudyCoolibar · 28/02/2020 23:31

in my job, they are all elderly

So they possibly haven't just returned from China, South Korea, or obscure small towns in Southern Italy?

JudyCoolibar · 28/02/2020 23:32

Sorry, meant to say Northern Italy.

Mummyoftwo91 · 28/02/2020 23:32

I work in the nhs, face to face with patients. and no I wouldn't give up my job

winniethekid · 28/02/2020 23:32

five become drama llamas

PixieDustt · 28/02/2020 23:32

I mean if you have this fear and don't need to work then the decision is up to you. No one can decide this for you.
If it makes you feel better you could purchase masks but from what I have read they are not sure if they're protective enough anyway.
