This has got to be a wind up

Nicknacky · 28/02/2020 22:37

No, pretty much everyone. It’s only on MN that there is this fucking hysteria. In real life people get on with life.

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:38

i will take my fear elsehwere

If this is a serious post and you are indeed a carer for the elderly then yes give up.your job as a certain amount of common sense is required to keep.people safe.

idontlike789 · 28/02/2020 22:38

Are you the same person who was annoyed because she couldn't get the time off work to go on holiday?

Nicknacky · 28/02/2020 22:38

Like where? Facebook?

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:38

you dont know that on real life people get on with life,

If you want to quit your job put on Your big girl pants and do it.. Dont use this virus as an excuse tho.. Smile

ElderAve · 28/02/2020 22:39

No. Presumably the people you care for don't get out much, so whilst they may be at greatest risk if they contract the virus, you're a much greater risk to them than they are to you .

OneOfTheGrundys · 28/02/2020 22:39

Definites and maybes.
Maybe-you catch Coronavirus at work.
Big maybe-you get really sick from it.

Definite-if you give up this job you’ll have less or no income.

I’d go with the definites at this stage.

Nicknacky · 28/02/2020 22:39

Enid I’m out at work everyday and not stuck on Mumsnet all day either. I’m not sure what your point is?

Sewingbea · 28/02/2020 22:40

Five Go Mad On MN

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:41

i am out at work discussing the virus

TrainspottingWelsh · 28/02/2020 22:41

Yeah, why not. Everyone can give up work. Salaries, food, utilities, health care etc will all appear by magic when they are required.

By all means give up work if you have other means, but linking it to coronavirus is a ridiculous excuse. Not to mention your client group must be amongst those least likely to have come into contact with it. As a group I can't imagine elderly people requiring carers are frequent international travellers.

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:42

dont worry about my income, it isnt my main job

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 28/02/2020 22:42

Who looks after the vulnerable if they all took the OP’s attitude?

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:43

dont worry, they wont all have my attitude, presumably I am the only one with this attitude, the rest of them are wearing big girls pants Hmm

OP posts:
Bombaybunty · 28/02/2020 22:43

I work in a community health care role. It hasn't crossed my mind that I might come in contact with the virus.
I just maintain the standard infection control protocols.

JoyceTempleSavage · 28/02/2020 22:44

Five Go Down To The Jobcentre

Nicknacky · 28/02/2020 22:44

The rest of them are probably more dedicated, professional and sensible.

Shamazing · 28/02/2020 22:46

Why do you think you would die if you caught the virus OP? Are you elderly or have an underlying condition?

EnidBlyton · 28/02/2020 22:46

i have already explained i wont go down to the job centre Hmm
