VW Polo - indicators turned white. Anyone!?

Help! I'm hoping someone is a mechanic or has maybe expertise before.

My indicators were working perfectly, someone was following me and all fine. Then I turned on my hazards and since then they are showing white instead of orange. Any ideas???

New bulb needed?

Happened to my old car (fiat panda) - failed an MOT because I hadn’t noticed. The bulb has discoloured and needs replacing.

This happened instantly to both at once.

Must be the bulbs, you need new ones

If the lenses are clear and the bulbs flash amber, (rather than clear bulbs behind amber lenses) the coating on the bulb that makes it shine amber can fail, rendering the lamp looking white. This can happen very quickly and will be coincidental to using the flashers,
