German Mumsnetters -- random question

In some places in Germany, I gather that 'big' rubbish, like old furniture etc is collected from pavements, but that a car or van goes around the streets playing music to warn people to put out their stuff for collection?

Can anyone tell me if it plays a specific tune, or just random music?

Thank you!

Bumping for you - that doesn't happen around these parts. There is a date once or twice a year I think and it's on the City website. Different days for different streets. Everyone puts their stuff out and it's perfectly normal and accepted for the neighbours to root through it and take anything they like the look of! DS1 brought home a manky old recliner and keeps it in his bedroom Hmm

I do not think it is a specific tune - but you've got me interesred and I try to find out what the 'Klüngelskerl' used to play.
