Can we talk about Nicola Walker, please? Or your other woman crushes?

I think I love her.

She's absolutely beautiful in a very natural way. I mean she has a very natural attractiveness which doesn't need make-up, procedures or fancy clothes. She looks amazing in Halifax.

I also like that she looks her age. This is so often used as an insult against women but I think it's so refreshing to see a woman in her late 40s looking like a woman in her late 40s. The fact she looks her age doesn't detract at all from how stunning she is.

I also really like that she's in the prime of her career now, in her late 40s, and is playing really realistic and likeable characters who are also meant to be women in their late 40s. She's a great actor.

I basically love her. She doesn't give me fizzy fanny or the like but I just want to watch her all the time and I'd really really like to go on a night out with her, she looks like she'd be an absolute scream

Please tell me you share my love of this woman?

If not, who are your woman crushes? Can't bring myself to write 'girl crush' Envy

Yes Nicola Walker and also Julie Graham and Jodie Comer too

PelicanPie · 29/02/2020 08:51

Mine is Nicole Kidman. I think she’s a great actress and when she was young I thought she was beautiful. Unfortunately she’s too fond of fillers and Botox these days but still looks amazing.

PelicanPie · 29/02/2020 08:53

I’ve just finished watching the new series of The Split. I think Nicola’s performance is always the same in everything but I do like her. She’s great friends with Sue Perkins. They were at Uni together.

Bluesheep8 · 29/02/2020 09:01

Yes to Nicola Walker. Also Vicky McClure.

TomPettysTopHat · 29/02/2020 09:03

Oh yes OP. Watching second series of The Split and she is absolutely mesmerising.

MissMogwai · 29/02/2020 09:22

Nicola Walker is fab I agree. I also love Lesley Sharp - brilliant actress and such an expressive face.

I have a massive woman crush on Elisabeth Moss too. Again she's got a brilliantly expressive face and eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off her in the Handmaids Tale.

MissMogwai · 29/02/2020 09:25

Can't believe I forgot Mel and Sue. They seem such good fun and I'd love to go out on the piss with them.

I was gutted when they left GBBO and I refuse to watch it now on principle. 😂

Mel is my favourite to be fair.

GameofPhones · 29/02/2020 09:47

Yes Nicola Walker has lovely and funny radio voice too (in Annika Stranded), Also love Siobhan Finneran's voice.

salty78 · 29/02/2020 09:52

I've been watching Better Things on bbc2 and am now a bit obsessed with Pamela Adlon

Ozgirl75 · 29/02/2020 11:26

Elisabeth Moss is one of the best actors I’ve seen - in the handmaids take she was just awe inspiring. My husband commented how she was able to convey so much feeling via a tiny movement in her eyes and a tightening of jaw. So subtle and yet huge at the same time.

PlausibleSuit · 29/02/2020 11:30

Mine are Fiona Shaw, Gillian Anderson and Beverley Knight.

Bunnylady54 · 29/02/2020 11:31

I love Ruth Jones - she’s all woman! Really curvy & sexy & I bet she’d be such fun on a night out.

Bunnylady54 · 29/02/2020 11:33

New respect for Vicky McClure after the dementia choir programme. She came across as just lovely.

MajesticWhine · 29/02/2020 11:36

YY to Gillian Anderson. Also nuts about Carrie-Anne Moss

Binterested · 29/02/2020 11:37

I thought this thread was about Nicola Roberts so I’ll vote for her !

LittleMissYorkshireLass · 29/02/2020 11:38

Nicola Walker is beautiful I love her in Halifax as well, my other girl crush is Cameron Diaz, looks like she has a wicked sense of humour!

MsMiaWallace · 29/02/2020 11:39

I think Emma Willis is stunning.
Also Nicole Kidman as a red head though.
Rosumand pike
Helen mirren!!

mum2jakie · 29/02/2020 11:44

Love Nicola Walker.

Also Lesley Manville for her role in Mum. Just such an excellent authentic portrayal of the character with so many nuances and subtleties. Fantastic.

MsPepperPotts · 29/02/2020 11:52

I love Nicola Walker from her days in Spooks and everything else she has been in.
Maxine Peake
Camilla Arfwedson
Freema Agyeman

HowYouLikeThemApples · 29/02/2020 12:44

I'm bisexual, so they're just celeb crushes, not "girl" or "woman crushes".

Alex Polizzi
Gillian Anderson
Victoria Coren Mitchell (although I think I just really like her)
Alice Roberts
Kate McKinnon

PelicanPie · 29/02/2020 18:18

Yes Alex Polizzi for me too

RuffleCrow · 01/03/2020 22:44

had to google Alex Polizzi but omg I so would! Unless she's got that arrogant Italian thing going on, which I know is a crude stereotype but one i've found a grain of truth in over the years.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 01/03/2020 22:48

I thought you were going to be talking about 'The Split'. She's fantastic in that. She's awesome in 'Last Tango in Halifax'. She's incredible in 'Spooks'. I wanted her and Harry to get married. Blush

I don't have a crush on her though, just think she's a terrific actor.

Itstheprinciple · 02/03/2020 19:26

I am currently only watching The Voice for Meghan Trainor who I have suddenly and unexpectedly developed a thing for.

mum2jakie · 02/03/2020 22:12

Just remembered Julie Graham. Not seen her in much recently but she is in the new channel 5 series starting soon. Does anyone else remember At Home With The Braithwaites?
