Can we talk about Nicola Walker, please? Or your other woman crushes?

I think I love her.

She's absolutely beautiful in a very natural way. I mean she has a very natural attractiveness which doesn't need make-up, procedures or fancy clothes. She looks amazing in Halifax.

I also like that she looks her age. This is so often used as an insult against women but I think it's so refreshing to see a woman in her late 40s looking like a woman in her late 40s. The fact she looks her age doesn't detract at all from how stunning she is.

I also really like that she's in the prime of her career now, in her late 40s, and is playing really realistic and likeable characters who are also meant to be women in their late 40s. She's a great actor.

I basically love her. She doesn't give me fizzy fanny or the like but I just want to watch her all the time and I'd really really like to go on a night out with her, she looks like she'd be an absolute scream

Please tell me you share my love of this woman?

If not, who are your woman crushes? Can't bring myself to write 'girl crush' Envy

ChicChic HBC - of course. Her fashion sense is fab.

OldHarrysGameboy · 28/02/2020 16:11

I have had a woman crush on Nicola Walker for years now for all the reasons in the OP. Also, more superficially, I love the way her face lights up when she laughs.

Squirrelpeanutbutter · 28/02/2020 16:12

We have some amazing actresses. I give thanks for the wonderful writers who showcase these women.

Yes to Nicola Walker, I like everything she's in. Yes also to Sarah Lancashire and Maxine Peake. I loved Silks.

Ruffle My mum had an occupational therapist for a few months who was the spitting image of Natasha Lyonne .. just stunning and a personality to match (well, from the brief professional conversations we had!) .. I am actually gay, was slightly obsessed with OITNB at the time ... it was a very trying period !!

RuffleCrow · 28/02/2020 16:47

Oh wow, @xenophilius, I bet you were in seventh heaven Smile. And strangely enthusiastic about accompanying your mum!

I'm bisexual and have now watched OITNB all the way through twice! Actually I may have skipped through the season or so where NL is 'in max' (so not actually in it) on the second viewing! I keep hoping Netflix will announce the second season of Russian Doll...

purrswhileheeats · 28/02/2020 16:48

Courteney Cox always did it for me, that bone structure! And when she wore the Catwoman suit in that episode of Friends.... 😍😋😱

Juanmorebeer · 28/02/2020 16:53

Sharon Horgan. I'd leave my husband for her and we'd live happily ever after drinking wine and laughing

CourageCamille · 28/02/2020 16:59

Celia Imrie even though she's 30 years older than me.

Puffinhead · 28/02/2020 17:01

Ruth Jones.

EssentialHummus · 28/02/2020 17:02

The woman who played the lead in Gold Digger (don’t know her name). God I would.

xsquared · 28/02/2020 17:24

Haven't seen an episode of The Split yet but she looks so different to the character she played in Luther.

DeborahAnnabelToo · 28/02/2020 17:39

Rachel Weisz (I think she's stunningly beautiful)
Vicky McClure (gorgeous eyes and amazing bone structure)

My overwhelming woman crush is on Megan Rapinoe, the captain of the US women's football team. What a woman! So (justifiably) proud of herself and her team, and not a bit apologetic about her pride
Love her.

I have an embarrassing number of girl crushes Blush

Yy to Hermione Norris, Sharon Horgan and Victoria Coren Mitchell.

Also Michelle Dockery (actress) and Alesha Dixon (tv presenter) and Steffi Graf (tennis player).

But my current major girl crush is Aisling Bea (Irish actress/comedian). She is kind of talented and beautiful and fabulous and adorable and admirable in pretty much every way. And I suspect would be the absolute best craic on a night out. Love her Smile

WellTidy · 28/02/2020 20:12

Op, have you seen River? Nicola Walker’s best work, I think. DH and I absolutely loved it. Cried buckets.

RuffleCrow · 28/02/2020 20:17
