Seller eBay question

Hi, was wondering if anyone can help. I sold an expensive electrical item on eBay (£190) last week. The buyer promptly paid and the following day I posted it via Royal Mail special delivery for arrival on Monday. Unfortunately I didn’t let the buyer know the tracking number until Monday. She later messaged to say she still hadn’t received it. When I checked the tracking number it was showing as delivered with a signature. Buyer says it’s not her signature, has checked with her neighbours and no parcel.
The buyer has asked me to look into it. I had a look on eBay and found out that she needs to put in a did not receive request and until that is done I can’t do anything. But although I’ve got proof of purchase and proof of postage, I’m worried I’m going to be seriously out of pocket. Does anyone have any experience of what I should do please?

did you upload the tracking number on ebay if you have sent tracked with a signature ebay seller protection will find in your favour
you can look at the signature and the name next to signature on royal mail website
Royal mail do not dump special delivery parcels just anywhere like Hermes my suspicion is that someone is pulling a fast one

if you haven't done it upload tracking number in ebay immediately go to orders/ sent items and enter tracking number and courier in this case Royal Mail
then go and read ebay seller protection , they can no longer claim non delivery when a signature shows it was delivered to the address
next time upload tracking numbers as soon as back from post office
you will be able to trace exactly when it was signed for ie 11.13am on Monday, it is a bit off that someone has waited until thursday to complain about non delivery of item on Monday as Special delivery guaranttes to be there before 1pm the next working day
a non received request when tracking says it is delivered will go nowhere you should first upload tracking then tell them to open a non received case

Get the tracking number on eBay straight away and check the post office receipt to make sure you've addressed the parcel correctly. As long as you have confirmed delivery she will not win a not received case. If one is opened call eBay and they will close it.

Tracking added! I can’t help thinking she’s trying it on. Hopefully it won’t be an expensive lesson for me to learn. Thank you for feedback. 🙂

Now get her to open an item not received case and then phone eBay to advise that the tracking shows delivered so they can close the case in your favour. (they'll check it while you're on the phone)

I send things by special delivery all the time and not one has gone wrong in over 20 years.

Sounds like she's pulling a fast one, the cheeky mare.

Find out what you can about the signature and where the parcel was delivered. Good luck!
