Extension costs

Hello, I'm researching extension costs at the moment. The ones online seem to be massively expensive, over 100k etc. Has anyone managed to do a small to medium extension for under 50k?. At the moment I think it might be cheaper to move!

Ps I'm central belt in Scotland.

You could get a design and build company round to give you a quote. See if your idea is viable.
A ery rough rule of thumb is £1500per sq m.

Good idea thanks, I just don't want it to be too depressing!

We did a few years back a small extension (kitchen single story) for less than 30k.
We were given the rough figure of 1k per sq m for single storey, 1.5k for 2 storey.
We paid approximately that including fitting the kitchen. (South East)

Hey @Witchend good to know thanks! A small extension would make a big difference to the layout for us
