What is this salary full time? Please help!

If a job pays 14k a year for 30 hours a week, what would that salary be for full time hours?

By my calculations for 39 hours it would be 18,200.

Depends if their FT is 39, 37.5 or 37 hours per week.

Based on ft hours of 37.5 per week

well, given that full-time hours is nominally 40, 14k is three-quarters; so

[full] x 3/4 = 14,000

and given that multiplication is both commutative and associative this means that

[full] = 14,000 / (3/4) = 14,000 x 4/3 = (14,000 x 4) /3

= 56,000/3

= 18,666.66r

So - assuming that full-time is 40 hours - a salary of £18,667

and that took me so long to type that everyone else got in first

Ha I just assumed that full time was 39 hours a week, which it is my industry. My husband works full time in another industry and does 37.5 hours a week.

My DH is lucky in that full-time hours is 35!
