Would you send DC to a nursery that hasn’t been Ofsted-ed?

The nursery has been open for 28 months. I put DC on the waiting list over a year ago assuming it would have been inspected by now, because they have to be inspected within 30 months of opening. Would you send your DC, or wait another few months to see an Ofsted report and risk losing the space in the meantime?

I would if I knew other parents who were sending their kids there and were happy.

Having now experienced two 'good' rated nurseries that are poles apart in their standards I'm a bit underwhelmed by Ofsted ratings.

Yes.

Yes as long as i knew other parents whose children were happy there.

However, I'm not sure what Ofsted really tells us beyond a snapshot of how it was found on the day

I don’t know the other parents, although obviously there are other children attending.

You could put a message on your local Facebook group asking for nursery recommendations and see if this particular nursery crops up.

I looked at one that wasn’t inspected and didn’t like it, the inspection came out a few weeks later and is “Requires Improvement”.

It was obvious to me that it was crap so if you like it then I'd trust your instincts.
