NC for this. So in 100 days I will hit 40. Not particularly bothered by this, actually before reading the do you feel old thread last night, I was even looking forward to it.

Realising the timeframe now seems quite significant and also long enough for me to make some changes. Will list out below, would be keen for any thoughts on what I could do and what impact I could see/feel in 100 days! I know may change would be a positive step but guess the idea of what I could achieve is very motivational for me.

  • I am overweight, need to lose 3.5/4 stone
  • I am unfit (partly due to heath issues that are now managed). I can’t run for a bus without heavy breathing
  • I’m a bit lost in terms on next steps for my career, I don’t really have a great manager so get little guidance. Feel 40 is a last push to get to a next level kind of place.
  • I don’t have any hobbies, little me time that isn’t a glass Or five of wine and nice food
  • overall grooming ok but not as well turned out as could be so never feel amazing
  • feel I need to spend more time with Dh/dc (work FT)
  • generally feel like a nicer and kinder individual. I am and have nice thoughts but get impatient and frustrated.

Quite a lot to work in it seems reading back Blush

What a brilliant idea! I made a decision to lose my baby weight ...before the youngest graduated and that gave me the spur to do it. Try Lucy Wyndham Read on YouTube for short but very effective workouts that you can do in 10 minutes a day, I also found the 17 day diet really effective, from what I can remember for 17 days you cut out carbs, have two lots of dairy and, I think, one piece of fruit, then you can eat as much veg and lean protein, the next 17 days you eat one portion of carbs every other day and the next 17 days a portion of carbs everyday, you can repeat it up to your 40th. Once you feel more in control you can start to tackle the other points.

You can totally do this but don't try all at once or it will seem overwhelming.
Set yourself a series of mini tasks every day that will make you feel better;

Organise a healthy date with your husband, a walk maybe.

Drink 2 litres of water that day

Avoid chocolate and sweets for a day - good for weight loss and your skin

Aim to read a book

Contact an old friend

Practise meditation etc

Choose things that take you forward and do a few everyday every week write down one or two things that went well and/or made you happy. Keep them in a jar and open it on day 100 to feel happy remembering all the great things that happened

100% agree to taking baby steps. They will add up to make you realise you're totally in control!!

Drinking water is always a good one. Maybe try to get some steps done outside? Whatever you normally do, add 200 each day?
