Just any chat
I have a horrible sense of foreboding. Didn’t want to post in mental health as more traffic here. I think it’s a manifestation of SAD, coupled with stress of elderly mother.

Well I'm still up! Sounds tough. Would you like to chat about something nice or talk about your stresses? X

Turd your user name has made me lol, thank you.

I don’t know. I just wanted to tell someone. I have this feeling of foreboding...as if something bad is going to happen and, though I feel this less, it’s going to be my fault.

And I keep remembering seeing my dad after he died in the hospice, more than a year ago.

It’s all rolling into one weird feeling that I can’t shake. Been like this most of the day.

Sounds like anxiety, i know that feeling and it's so horrible. Everything just feels wrong and scary. I was hit by it on a lovely holiday once, really ruined the trip as I just felt anxious and foreboding the whole time.

Is your mother poorly? That could be triggering thoughts of your dad?

Maybe try a little CBT; try and pin down your worries and then think through to the worst case scenario, I find that comforting some times.

My mum is under the care of docs for a range of things but it seems to come with the age.

I have had this feeling before with so much force, I had a dizzy spell on the Tube.

I do have anxiety and depression generally.

Your story reminds me of being a friend’s house, she went upstairs to change the baby, then came back down and said “I think there’s a poo upstairs that I can’t find”. 😂

Grin that story made me lol!! Babies are gross.

Are you on any meds for your MH? How have you coped with the grief over your dad?

AutumnRose1 · 27/02/2020 00:09

I’m on meds, fluoxetine, but just a low maintenance dose at the mo. I do have a couple of diazepam for emergencies so I might take one tonight.

I mostly had to look after mum when dad died so perhaps there’s some unprocessed stuff.

Thank you for listening, I appreciate it. I’m going to take a diazepam and go to bed now. Hopefully I’ll feel more normal in the morning!

Thanks so much.
