I hear nothing from my community care work and am concerned

Yes, local authority here

dillite · 26/02/2020 21:11

We had an email yesterday, if you suspect that you might have it- self isolate for 2 weeks. Sick leave policy will apply as normal and disciplinary action will be taken as normal- even though it's their own bloody policy that's telling people to stay off! A government department so what else can be said.

EnidBlyton · 26/02/2020 21:11

Am tempted to email the question.

EnidBlyton · 26/02/2020 21:14

Indeed

Yes, loads - local authority, education/schools

JhustJenny · 26/02/2020 21:14

Eh?! 😆

chesterfuckingdrorrs · 26/02/2020 21:18

@Nicknacky I think, from seeing previous posts, we may work for the same "merged" police force. If so I stand corrected and there's something on the intranet that I've not read because I don't have time to pee let alone read the intranet

CherryPavlova · 26/02/2020 21:20

Daily updates from DoH and NHSE

Nicknacky · 26/02/2020 21:21

chester I think you might be right and we do work for the same employer. I think I saw the word “corona” as I went into the intranet to do something else but don’t quote me, I was busy😂

Catmarni · 26/02/2020 21:21

One email last week. I work for the NHS.

BanningTheWordNaice · 26/02/2020 21:24

I work for a pharma company - they’ve said they won’t be providing masks as they don’t work.

EnidBlyton · 26/02/2020 21:35

email their policy on keeping safe, sick leave, etc., whether or not they would provide masks?

i should think my company are keeping their head down tbh, no way would they be able to accommodate staff quarantining

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 26/02/2020 21:51

Do any of the staff need to quarantine? I think people need to calm down.

EnidBlyton · 26/02/2020 21:56

What are you bringing here @Nicknacky ?

Meaning what? If you are looking for hysteria then you won’t get it from me. I work with the public, I’m physically close to them and in and out their houses.

But let’s be realistic. Life is carrying on as normal in the real world.

If you become ill and need sick leave then worry about it then. If you want to wear a mask then buy one and wear one.

EnidBlyton · 26/02/2020 22:01

are your work keeping you up to date was my question,

Oh so you just want a yes or no answer. My mistake.

fastliving · 26/02/2020 22:05

Nope.
It's a small company, all travel there in our own cars, only delivery drivers visiting us.
I don't think the UK has got many cases yet, so no need to panic.

m0therofdragons · 26/02/2020 22:07

Just read the public health England info on there government website. Why do you need your employer to tell you that?

I'm on 2 calls a day through work due to my role in emergency planning, but as it's constantly changing employers are better off asking staff to look on the official channels that will be updated. If you are really concerned then the advice is call 111.

workshyfop · 26/02/2020 22:08

Yes all international travel banned unless business critical, and we’ve sent a couple of people home who’ve been to northern Italy. Not bothering with masks, just reminding about hand washing.
