I need a cheerful thread. I'm not coping today, I've got a lot on my plate and right now it feels like there is nothing positive in the world.

Please tell me about something nice that has happened today and remind me there is some good in the world, even if its something really small.

I've officially adopted my little girl and my 12 year old had an amazing parents evening where every single teacher told me how lovely she is 🥰

BramwellBrown · 26/02/2020 20:00

@57iusedtohavechickens thank you, that is really lovely. Congratulations to your 12 year old and how wonderful for you and your little girl x

I'm going through a lot at the moment and my little boy was in hospital for an appointment. The consultant made a point of telling me I'm working really hard and doing a great job and everyday things are improving. It meant so much to hear her say that. I'm sitting here now with my cat curled up on my lap and feel much better.

Raffles1981 · 26/02/2020 20:04

My son had a total meltdown this morning on the dog walk and my neighbour simply told me I was super mummy and that I was doing a great job. To know someone has your back is an awesome feeling ❤️

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/02/2020 20:07

I dropped off some clothes at a local charity and then went for a hot chocolate. All very normal for most people but I have agoraphobia and it was the first time I've driven the car by myself for about 4/5 months. A very good day.

iusedtohavechickens · 26/02/2020 20:08

@BramwellBrown thank you 😁

I hope things get better for you soon! Seems people are always quick to min but very rarely do you see positive stories so this will be such a lovely thread 😁

tadpole39 · 26/02/2020 20:10

My very withdrawn foster dog flew through the air and started playing with my dog. Lasted for 40 mins and they both very happy and tired now!

ShipshapeShore · 26/02/2020 20:15

I saw a robin and a lovely blossoming tree on my walk to work. Only a small thing but it made me pause and be grateful.

I also bought a new pencil case and highlighters for work - from Poundland because I'm fancy 😁

BigcatLittlecat · 26/02/2020 20:25

A boy in my class who is struggling in mainstream took my face in his hands and stroked my face and hair whilst smiling. I had to go and compose myself in the staff room afterwards!

bluechameleon · 26/02/2020 20:26

I popped in on the breastfeeding group I used to go to because I happened to be in the building. The woman who runs it was so pleased to see me still feeding my 2 year old which made me feel good.

walkingongreyclouds · 26/02/2020 20:28

Aww this thread is making me smile already.

I had a lovely waiter earlier whose positive energy was so infectious that he made me smile every time I saw him.

Waterandlemonjuice · 26/02/2020 20:32

I had a lovely 1.5 hour phone chat with a friend this morning and she made me laugh.

Dd was a bit down when she came home from school so I made her hot chocolate with squirty cream, chocolate sprinkles and edible gold dust on top with a hot chocolate salty caramel stick like this one on the side

I have clean sheets, pillowcases and duvet cover on my bed 🙂

justanouk · 26/02/2020 20:39

Not one but two other school mums reminded me today, unasked, that they'd be happy to pick up DS from school if DD had to stay home sick (so I wouldn't need to drag DD out).

Just a little thing really but it's a reminder there are so many kind people out there who would go out of their way to make life a little easier for someone else, in this case a small girl feeling ill.

porple · 26/02/2020 20:42

my nan came to my house on a bus after she hasn’t been on a bus for over 5 years due to anxiety

blaaake · 26/02/2020 20:43

I ordered my new car today! Though it's not that much of an event as I'm swapping it for the same model, they've just updated it a bit

Ohffs66 · 26/02/2020 20:45

Ddog has squashed her face right up against my leg and is snoring and huffing away very gently. She's not always very affectionate but this week she's tried to squish right up to me every night, it makes my heart flutter. Also DH made lovely mash for tea. It's a bit of a slow news day here!

ironicname · 26/02/2020 20:48

Felt the sunshine on my face for the first time in weeks.

Our naughty dog ran off to track rabbit for a whole hour. Instead of getting cross, we just laughed and had a cuddle in the fresh air. Was nice to be outside together, just waiting.

Bananaman123 · 26/02/2020 20:53

First day in a while ive been able to get out for a long walk with the dog, shes a new rescue and doing so well, she made me proud today and is sleeping soundly on my lap (staffy, no sense of size)

Pol16 · 26/02/2020 20:57

One really good thing about today is reading this thread. You must be a really nice person to want to hear about positive things that have happened to other people. Not many people would want to do this if they were having a hard time. Sending you good thoughts and hope things improve for you.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/02/2020 20:57

Your Nan rocks @porple

porple · 26/02/2020 20:58

She really does! @Disfordarkchocolate

BathTangle · 26/02/2020 21:04

I'm not feeling very well but went to work anyway. My boss totally appreciated the effort I made: it's so lovely to have a boss who genuinely cares about their team. I watched a video last night about people who do kind things for others just because they can and my boss is just like that. Smile

ThatsWotSheSaid · 26/02/2020 21:23

I was really busy at work and I like being busy and feeling useful.
Dd did a sport she enjoys tonight. I love it when she comes home all happy and buzzing.
DS had a costume for world book day arrive in the post. He tried it on and he is the cutest thing alive!

Gilead · 26/02/2020 21:23

A friend dropped in for a cuppa and to give me a couple of bunches of dads because she thought I’d like them. Lovely thing to do.

Gilead · 26/02/2020 21:24

Daffs!
