Puberty 9yr old DS

My DS has just come to talk to me about changes that are happening to him. I've wondered for a while if he was starting puberty as he has grown a lot and was also getting mood swings. At the moment he has grown quite a bit, has a moustache but he's had that for a year or two already, he has pubic hair but not underarm hair. I know that he is young for this. I've looked online and all the information suggests that after 9 it's classed as normal. He's 10 in May but I'm assuming that this has started possibly prior to him becoming 9. Is there any point taking him to a gp or while they not be concerned now that he is almost 10, even if he started puberty prior to being 9?

I don't think I would bother going to a GP, just put it down to early development.

Just make sure he is aware of the changes to his body. We bought DS a couple of books that he could dip into with the understanding he could talk to us at any time
