Weeping cradle cap

Hello! My ds is 3 months and has always had what I assume is cradle cap but it feels wet sometimes, it also crusts behind his ears and spreads on to his forehead. It's red and swollen in places too and he seems to itch it, is it still cradle cap? I use baby oil and cradle cap shampoo everyday and try to brush the flakes off with a soft brush and looks better initially but then is the same by the next morning and can appear in new places. He had infant acne which cleared after a few weeks. Never had this with my first baby, sorry for the long post!

sometimes cradlevap can need fungal treatment so it's worth getting checked out. the daily washing probably is a bit too much for delicate skin too. Go should be able to help.

My baby had what I think was bad cradle cap on her ears (I attached a picture so you can see how bad it was).

We used vaseline on it and it cleared up within a day. I washed it gently with water and a wash cloth and then put a fairly thick layer of vaseline on morning and evening and kept doing that for a couple of weeks even though it was loads better after the first day. Behind her ears is still a bit dry but nothing like it was.

Slather olive oil on overnight (use a mattress protector in the cot) and gently brush out.

If it’s weeping I’d book a GP appointment to make sure it’s not fungal.
