Where can I buy black school trousers for girl with small waist but large thighs?

As the title says really. DD15 has a size 8 waist but size 10 bum and thighs...so her school trousers are either stretched tight on her legs and fit her waist, or fit her thighs and bum and are ridiculously big around the waist. She prefers slim leg trousers, but I’m really struggling to find a pair that fit her well.

She will struggle to get slim leg! I’m guessing she either doesn’t want to or can’t wear a skirt? I have a ridiculous waist to hip ratio and very large thighs. Trousers have never been easy. Apart from wide leg...

I'm a slightly larger small waist and big thigh person and like these from M&S:

Get her the bigger trousers to fit thighs and a belt for the baggy waistline.

How tall is she? I am that size and fit age 13 m and s trousers which have an adjustable waist

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 25/02/2020 22:01

Down I’m not even sure school would allow wide leg trousers let alone getting DD to wear them. There is a school skirt but it’s tartan, pleated, knee length and she’d rather go to school in her underwear than wear it Hmm.

M&s and next school trousers have adjustable waists. So go for the size that fit her in the leg and then tighten the Elasticated waist

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 25/02/2020 22:02

Caulk she’s around 5’4 and of “normal” leg length.

I’d not thought of checking out M and S to be fair-that’s a good shout. I’d not thought of the possibility of adjustable waist still being available at her age

Oh dear! It’s a tricky one. Do none of her friends have the same problem? Buy the larger size and have them taken in?

everycowandagain · 25/02/2020 22:08

I am quite pear shaped and get all my black trousers (and nothing else!) from Wallis.

I buy M&S slim leg trousers with adjustable waist for my DD, the size which fit around thighs, they are always too long so then shorten them. Tbh it’s the only way which works for her.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 25/02/2020 22:13

Down not that I’ve noticed-they all seem to be pencil shaped or their weight is more evenly distributed. I will check out our local M and S. I could have bigger ones taken in if I can’t find a pair that fit better.

I don’t know if there’s a Wallis round here but I’ll google and see.

It has to be said I think she’s got a lovely figure, but they clearly don’t make trousers to accommodate it!
