Standrewsschool · 25/02/2020 17:05

Aaaaahhhhhhhh!

Standrewsschool · 25/02/2020 17:06

Or even cheap gin!

sundayfishfinger · 25/02/2020 17:08

I had a more low rent version of yours when a bottle of vegetable oil jumped out of a cupboard and went EVERYWHERE!! Almost impossible to clean and it was on my one night off when kids were freshly put to bed and I was about to relax. Bloody cried out of frustration!!

happypotamus · 25/02/2020 17:10

Can I join you?
Went to cash point this morning, bought milk to get required change for DC to go to breakfast club tomorrow, went to another shop to get more change, started walking home and wondered why the back of my leg was wet, the milk in my bag had started leaking, went back to first shop to get more milk. Later, went to get DC from school, it was fucking snowing, couldn't find purse anywhere, still can't find it, have cancelled bank card, money and cards lost, not sure how to get bus to work tomorrow now, can't get uber because bank card cancelled, ordered something to click and collect from a shop yesterday but probably won't be able to collect it without a card so that's more money gone, and I really liked that purse (and that money and those loyalty points cards and those outrageously expensive stamps and the convenience of having a bank card). Fucking nightmare.

AlCalavicci · 25/02/2020 17:10

Arrrgggh !

But it could of been worse , red wife on a cream carpet , a glass jar of honey all over the work top - I have never done that ooohh nooo

BearimyJeremy · 25/02/2020 17:13

On the plus side your kitchen probably smells amazing right now Grin Flowers

Bubblysqueak · 25/02/2020 17:13

Can I join you, I threw an entire bottle of water into my lap, seconds before I had to go into a meeting, only had chance for a quick wipe down with a towel. I spent the entire meeting looking like I had wet myself.

AlCalavicci · 25/02/2020 17:13

@happypotamus
You win the the thread so far 🙁

Cinderemma · 25/02/2020 17:20

@happypotamus
You definitely win hands down. I'd have cried.
My kitchen does smell amazing though and if it had been gin I'd have been devastated 😂

@Standrewsschool umm even I haven't managed that yet. Give it time though

Red wine on the other hand

sundayfishfinger · 25/02/2020 18:06

Oh and also once when I made a lovely big lasagne and the whole family was starving.

Got it out of the oven (big dish on an oven tray) and it just slipped and I dropped the whole lot on the kitchen floor. Blush

Husband ran into the kitchen and said "what the hell are you doing?!?" All angry with me! Oh excuse me, yes I totally meant to throw it on the floor after spending ages making it.

No asking if I was ok, was I burnt etc... Angry

ALongHardWinter · 25/02/2020 18:20

I managed to knock a full bottle of vegetable oil on to the floor when we had a power cut a many years ago. The lid popped off as it hit the floor and it went EVERYWHERE. And I couldn't even begin to clean it up for 3 hours and the power had came back on. I spent a nightmare 3 hours trying to keep a young child and an inquisitive cat from walking in it. Took me about 2 bastarding hours to clean it up.
Another memorable one was when I'd just got in the front door with some shopping and the bottom of a carrier bag split,releasing a jar of cook-in sauce onto the floor. It smashed,spraying korma sauce all up the walls,up the inside of the front door,even on the bloody ceiling. I won't forget that one in a hurry.

ParkheadParadise · 25/02/2020 18:26

@sundayfishfinger
Sorry but I'm laughing at your lasagne post
🤣🤣

sundayfishfinger · 25/02/2020 18:34

@ParkheadParadise Grin

Doginahat · 25/02/2020 18:35

This may be outing, but today in my classroom a child popped a packet of powder pancake mix and antiqued themself.

Blastandbollocks · 25/02/2020 18:39

For those who have dropped oil on stuff, use flour to clean it. It absorbs the grease and then you can just brush it up and then wipe the surface.

Nothingfallingdowntoday · 25/02/2020 19:22

Smashed Thai fish sauce, large catering sized bottle. The smell was unbelievable and took days of cleaning with bleach, vinegar and all sorts. Had to lift the flooring and kitchen kick boards. Also scrubbed so hard and so long I did my back in. Nightmare

Lordfrontpaw · 25/02/2020 19:24

A full Litre bottle of olive oil on the kitchen floor - so not only was it greasy and went under all the units (and chipped a tile), there were shards of glass all over the pace and it stank. At least rose water would smell nice.

MrsA2015 · 25/02/2020 19:24

Dropped 5kg tub of olives and the oil it was in all over MILs kitchen, it went under all the appliances. To make it worse the towel Id used to mop it up she decided to put in the washing machine, rendering all washes left with an olive oil slick for months Envy
