Property porn:

Look at this house; great for when we win the lottery

Tha lack of inside pictures is deeply suspicious. Suspect bedrooms are small and that it's all v dark and gloomy and in need of maintenance.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/02/2020 21:05

I love the lake and pool but no pics of upstairs is odd.

Ohyesiam · 24/02/2020 21:06

No I don’t love it. It has weirdly oppressive ceilings and a waiting-room vibe.
Quite like the outdoors space though

MakeLemonade · 24/02/2020 21:12

Not that popular, first went on the market for £6m in 2017! 😮 That’s a hell of a price reduction.

And I still don’t think there’s enough house to warrant it.

Bunnylady54 · 24/02/2020 21:13

I love the outside but indoors gives me the willies!

ScrambledSmegs · 24/02/2020 21:13

It's beautifully done (although not to my taste but that hardly matters) but being that close to a lake is something I wouldn't like at all. We live not too far from water -not a lake - and see enough rats on the banks to really put me off living any closer!

Waitingfordennis · 24/02/2020 21:14

Don't like either, all far too footballers wives

TheoneandObi · 24/02/2020 21:18

I see it and think 'lovely money pit, constant stream of trade people and gardeners'!
I'd rather have smaller, simpler and be left alone!

TSSDNCOP · 24/02/2020 21:25

No thank you, I dislike beamed ceilings and marble floors. Love all the outside stuff though. Could I knock it down and re-build as I’ve obviously got squilliobs of £££’s

Gogolego · 24/02/2020 21:28

Love love love the grounds
Really not keen on the inside decor especially the drawing room, snug and dining room. Too chintzy for my taste

VenusClapTrap · 24/02/2020 21:33

It’s ok but I’ve seen nicer for 4 mil. I’d want a more interesting location and killer views for that money.

pallisers · 24/02/2020 21:37

The outside is lovely but I don't like the inside at all. Much prefer my own house (and it is nowhere near 4 million!) Also I like being somewhere you can walk to shops/restaurants/train etc so it wouldn't be for me.

OneOfTheGrundys · 24/02/2020 21:38

The garden and the house are lovely but the decor is not right for the property. They’ve tried to do greige glitzy chintz in a cosy cottage. Not working imho.
Anyhow, if Coronavirus strikes hard and civilisation implodes we can head over there Mad Max style and move in.

pallisers · 24/02/2020 21:39

knowing nothing about Guildford, I prefer this one

Cherrysoup · 24/02/2020 21:41

@Megan2018 yes, yes! Possibly even too big! A horse walker! Omg! Pornographic! Love it.

anothermansmother · 24/02/2020 21:44

Nope not for me even if I had a lottery win, I hate lakes/ pins in gardens and also hate exposed beams in houses.

Honeyroar · 24/02/2020 21:48

It’s nice, I can certainly see the appeal, but not that special for that kind of money. I think I’d keep looking if I had that much to spend.

Flufferbum · 24/02/2020 21:51

WOW

homemadecommunistrussia · 24/02/2020 21:56

Great tree, nice duck pond, I could do without the rest.

7salmonswimming · 24/02/2020 21:57

4 million quid plus around £35kpa to pay someone to keep the cottage and grounds looking like that, and another £35pa to keep the inside clean. It’s over furnished as it is, but those windows, floors, doors etc aren’t going to keep themselves clean

It’s not selling because it doesn’t make sense. Too much fancy outdoors for not enough indoors, and the fancy outdoors (pool, cottage) are just weird for Surrey. It’s not Provence, or San Diego!

Danglingmod · 24/02/2020 22:02

Another voice to add to the: "outside lovely, inside No Thanks." It's a weird mix of grey marbley/HoneSense/Next and cottagey chintzy. Looks v cheap.

There's a BEAUTIFUL mid century house on the market near me, only £2million, and MUCH nicer (okay, it is a generally cheaper part of the country).

Lostkeyagain · 24/02/2020 22:05

Too Surrey for me.

I couldn’t live with the Thai Buddhas acting as waterfalls.

Bloomburger · 24/02/2020 22:05

Flooding risk it's a no no!

Megan2018 · 24/02/2020 22:18

@Cherrysoup I ride past a lot. I’ve mentally moved in Grin

Hollyhead · 24/02/2020 22:24

No I don’t love it - this is what I’d like - and it’s 1.3m cheaper!
