Job Advice

I have a job I really enjoy. Could do with some more hours but it’s ok & pretty much fits in with DD11. I do need to work as DH is self - employed & his income can vary. We are never going to be rich but we have paid off our mortgage & rent out our first marital home.
However, there are problems with the job & it seems to be getting worse. We only ever receive our rota at the end of the previous week so it can be tricky to plan anything, including childcare, although lately I have been getting the same days off each week. They have “ red zones” on the holiday planner which means nobody can book time off & these have been increased. Some fall in school holidays. There are also a fair few “ yellow zones” & within these dates, only one person from each department is allowed to be off. I’m on checkouts & there aren’t a huge number of us but it’s still restricting.
I live in an area where jobs don’t come up that often or they can be zero hours etc. I used to work at Tesco’s & could apply there again but no guarantee that it would lead to a permanent position. I was a summer temp before. Then there’s Asda but again, I think any vacancies coming up would be temporary initially ( I saw a couple online but they’re fulltime which I can’t do). I’m mainly looking at retail but I could go back to nannying, although this rarely pays well here. Any advice as to how I play my work situation would be much appreciated. It’s such a shame the company I currently work for doesn’t seem to value their staff that much 😥
