40th birthday present

I need some inspiration! It's DH's 40th soon and I have no idea what to get him. He doesn't drink or follow any sport, isn't a foodie and doesn't have any hobbies. Doesn't need a watch, wallet, anything to wear, doesn't wear aftershave or groom in any way (watch a catch he is!)

He loves gadgets but is waiting for various things to come out later in the year and I don't want to buy him something that isn't quite right. What I know he'd like is some time away just the two of us, but we have no-one to look after the children so that's out. He's not interested in a day/weekend away on his own or with friends.

Any ideas??

Does he wear any jewellery? Does he like trainers? (Clutching at straws here....)

Really difficult.
Could you maybe still book a break away and choose somewhere with really great kids' club reviews so you could at least have a few meals, or a chill- out alone?

Totally depends on your DC of course (and budget).
Confused

maybe a voucher he can put towards gadgets? concert/event tickets to somewhere? How about a yearly pass to something he might enjoy, which you could do as a family?
I used to get my DP Merlin passes, there are National Trust ones you can buy, and i bet plenty of others too
