Late DMs medical records

Before she died in 2016 DM was tested for what she said was "the gene" because she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 55 and her DM had it in her 40s. There are no other women on that side. DM never went into any details. Would she have been tested for BRCA 1 and 2bor just 1? How can I find out?

I assume you are in the uk? Talk to your GP & explain what you have said here. They can refer you to the regional genetics team who can check and discuss any results with you
