Can't see anything on the website about it but someone said they do?!

GlummyMcGlummerson · 23/02/2020 22:17

Queenparsnip · 23/02/2020 22:21

I got a little Polaroid picture with mine. Although I got l couldn't see one forthcoming so I had to ask (I guess it's possible they would have done it eventually but I wanted one and I couldn't see any sign of it so I said something)

firstimemamma · 23/02/2020 22:23

We got a certificate and it was only a couple of months ago.

PsychoWiener · 23/02/2020 22:52

I didn't know about this and didn't get one when we got DS first shoes a few weeks ago. Oh man😔

Pineappletree33 · 23/02/2020 22:53

We didn’t get one in the autumn.

ChicCroissant · 23/02/2020 22:57

My DD is a teen now but we got a certificate and a polaroid photo of her sitting on DH's lap from Clarks! Perhaps not all stores do it and especially not in half-term when they are a bit rushed.

purpleme12 · 23/02/2020 23:33

Mmm I think some are just probably rubbish to be honest and just have to be asked

Kpo58 · 23/02/2020 23:36

Not that I've heard of. Though they did give me a 20% on DS's first shoes when I bought them from there.

ParkheadParadise · 23/02/2020 23:48

I got a Polaroid and certificate from clarks when dd1 got her first shoes 27 yrs ago.
Dd2 didn't get her first shoes from clarks. She got a badge🤣

theThreeofWeevils · 24/02/2020 01:32

What the Actual Fuck?

Why would this certificate mean any bloody thing at all? It is a baby. It now needs shoes and is thus developing as it should, footwise at any rate. Shoes have been bought for it from a company that exists to sell shoes. So friggledy what?

LowbrowVictoriana · 24/02/2020 01:49

I never had this with any of my 5 DC. Had no idea until now that it was even a thing.

What is the point of it? Why are shoes special? Confused

DappledThings · 24/02/2020 07:43

Never heard of this. DC2 got her her first shoes from there last year. The sort of thing if it had been offered I would have been confused about what they were offering, then accepted just to be polite and put in the recycling as soon as we were home.

FamilyOfAliens · 24/02/2020 07:46

They take photos and give you a certificate? No wonder the queues are always so bloody long.

CopperMugs · 24/02/2020 07:47

Wtf? Why?

Silvercatowner · 24/02/2020 07:49

Oh good grief. You know its just a cynical marketing ploy aimed at gullible parents, don't you??

Crystal87 · 24/02/2020 07:50

My 11 year old old got a photo with his when he was a baby but none of my other younger kids have ever had anything.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 24/02/2020 07:50

The photo is kind of sweet. Shoes are symbolic of starting to walk, which is obviously a big deal so it’s a nice moment to capture. From Clarks POV obviously it’s a way of capturing a consumer from Day 1.

purpleme12 · 24/02/2020 07:52

Does it matter if it's a marketing ploy?
It didn't cost me any money and I would have bought the shoes from there anyway so yes I wanted it.

thistimeisshort · 24/02/2020 07:53

I never had this but probably wouldn't have kept it anyway. What do you intend to do with the certificate? Frame it? Look back on it in 30 years? Confused

Roselilly36 · 24/02/2020 07:54

We had a Polaroid & certificate, 18 years when buying DS1 pair of shoes, can’t remember what happened with DS2, to sleep deprived I expect!

Sewrainbow · 24/02/2020 08:11

We did over 10 years ago though, didnt cost anything. Cute I thought even if it is a marketing ploy.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 24/02/2020 08:32

What?!?! I asked and they said they didnt do it any more.

This was in October Sad

bruffin · 24/02/2020 08:39

Got a photo and cert 22 years ago for dd Its in dds baby book
