DC has come down with D&V so no school for a few days.

What does everyone do in terms of cleaning/disinfecting/generally not going mad in the house?

Thanks :)

I wash everything washable. Bedding, towels, throws, cushion covers etc. Obviously thoroughly clean bathroom and kitchen also high contact areas such as door handles, books, toys. Pretty sure germs don't last more than a few hours on hard surfaces but it's nice to have a good clean.
Fingers crossed no one else gets it in your house, op.

Confine DC to lounge, on a big towel, with their bedding and a bucket and a tray for drinks / plain biscuit if they feel like nibbling.

Then deep clean their bedroom and all soft furnishings/ cuddly toys etc etc. Disinfect all light switches / door handles etc and thoroughly clean every time they use the toilet. Maybe give kitchen roll to dry hands on instead of hand towel.

Get them to have a shallow bath before bed whilst change their duvet & pillow cases, line bed with fresh towels if necessary, chuck everything they've used from the day in a wash.

Wear plastic gloves yourself and thoroughly hand wash.

Without wanting to jinx myself, in 13 years, I've never caught a D&V bug off the children and only once have had more than one of them had a bug at the same time. I am then hyper-vigilant in the days after symptoms have cleared up, just in case there's any germs left around the place!

The rest of the time, we're a once-a-week-big-clean type household.
