Lidl washing powder

I bought Lidl own brand washing powder last week and have noticed it doesn't seem to be dissolving properly. At the end of each wash there is just a soggy sticky pile of powder in the drawer. Has anyone else had this problem with this powder or should I be looking at problems with the machine? Just seems a coincidence that I've never had this problem until using this particular powder.

Yes, I had exactly the same issue with Lidl's powder. I started to think it might be my machine but I changed back to Sainsburys non-bio and that dissolved fine.

Have you tried putting it straight in the drum?

Rottenmilkcup · 23/02/2020 13:59

Scrunchcake I'm glad to read this I've been hoping it's the powder and not a machine problem. I'll buy a box of my usual brands tomorrow.

ClientQueen no I haven't I didn't realise you could do this with powder Blush

Have you cleaned out the dispenser drawer and the roof bit where the water inlets are?

BentNeckLady · 23/02/2020 14:04

Used it for years with no problems in my Bosch washing machine. What’s you’re water pressure like? Have you cleared all the crap out of the water inlets?

Rottenmilkcup · 23/02/2020 14:58

dementedpixie yes I done this the first time I noticed the powder not dissolving thinking that was the cause.

BentNeckLady water pressure seems fine never had any problems before but I'm not sure of an accurate reading.

I've read online colder weather can cause this to happen not sure how true that is. Will run an hot empty wash tonight and try a different powder tomorrow, really hoping my machine isn't about to break down.

Found some surf in the cupboard and it's all rinsed away fine so must have just been the powder Confused

Yep it clogs into a lump in my washing machine too.

I have very hard water.....don't know if that makes any difference

I use this all the time and I've never had a problem - I do put it straight into the drum and not in the drawer though. It does say not to do this on the pack though, I'm not sure why?, it's never caused a problem.

I live in a soft water area. I'll not bother buying it again, I'm only in Lidl every now and again anyway as it's a couple of towns away.
