Cafe/restaurant recommendations- London

Ideally central/city London I'm looking for a cheap place to have lunch - just a sandwich fine - but I want a lovely view or quirky place or fabulous interior. I've been googling for hours. Help! Thanks

The Attendant the-attendant.com/locations/fitzrovia/

Oklava bakery, Fitzrovia

Fernandez & Wells, various locations

The Wolesley, Piccadilly

Top floor of Peter Jones, Sloane Square (it's a department store cafe but good food and the best view ever!)

Top floor of Harvey Nichols (ditto but more expensive)

The Wolesley can be expensive if you're not careful but they honestly don't give a shit if you just order soup or an omelette. They have an all-day menu as well so you can get eggs Benedict at 4pm if you have a hangover.

(Make sure you book though)

Elan - Selfridges or Market place

The Delaunay Counter at Aldwych. Nice inside, feels quite special, but not expensive.

I would recommend Coal Drops Yard in Kings cross, not exactly central but it’s a lovely mooching type area and they have a brilliant lunch place called Bodega Rita’s I love it!!

Mercato Metropicato Mayfair. Street food market in huge old beautifully restored church. Price depends on what you eat!

Maison Bertaux in Soho. Amazing french patisserie.

If central = near the museums at South Ien, then

daquise.co.uk

which used to be the HQ for Polish resistance during the war. Set lunch menu £12, individual didshes about half that.

Dishoom in Kings Cross is an amazing building in a lovely area, and can be very reasonably priced for breakfast or lunch. If you order the house chai, you get free refills. There's also a great bar next door, Spiritland, which does really well priced wine and a small food menu.
