What kind of ring is it? Probably not much, jewellery tends to sell for much less than bought unless very high quality

Fantasiaa · 22/02/2020 22:53

Not much at all.

DownWhichOfLate · 22/02/2020 22:54

You’d be lucky to get £50.

Best thing to do is get it valued but jewelry does seem to lose a lot of value but you might get lucky

Mine cost 1250. Its now selling for 1450. I was curious a couple of years ago about what it would sell for. Apparently no more than 200.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 22/02/2020 23:35

Have you got the diamond certificate? With the information (4Cs) it’s easier to get an estimate.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 22/02/2020 23:37

Have you got it off your finger then?

BuffaloCauliflower · 23/02/2020 09:06

What sort of metal, what grade of diamond?

Ughmaybenot · 23/02/2020 09:08

Fuck all I’d imagine. Unless it’s premium quality, second hand jewellery sells for very little.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 23/02/2020 09:11

Clean it up and take it to be valued, but not very much in my experience.

Mosaic123 · 23/02/2020 09:22

I've put one for auction recently. The estimate is 10k to 15k. But it was valued at £40k for insurance purposes. So 25% of insurance amount, minus 20% which the auction house will charge me. (It was a gift).

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 23/02/2020 09:36

Mine was brought for £1300. I regularly have it cleaned and the man I take it to always offers to buy mine for £700 apparently it’s a lovely quality cut diamond however I’d never sale even if it was worth nothing as it comes from my DH.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/02/2020 09:42

You won't get much. I had a £1300 effort which I was repeatedly offered metal base value for. I bunged it on eBay in the end and doubled that.

NameChangeNugget · 23/02/2020 10:10

Do you have the diamond certificate?

MistyIsland · 23/02/2020 10:14

I’d take it to a couple of jewellery shops and see what they say.

Sadly Second hand is normally only worth 15-20% of the original purchase price if that, and that’s only for really good quality pieces with certified diamonds.

Mine was around 3k new and for insurance it’s valued around 5k if I wanted to sell it I’d be lucky to get £800-1k (if that I did think about it a couple of times)

I do love my engagement ring.

unicornsrule · 23/02/2020 12:57

Yes have the certificate
