My dd is in early labour. Tens is on. CTX regular but manageable.

First baby. First grandchild both sides. Obviously can't tell anyone but eek.

She and her dp live with us. Younger DC all in bed now so hopefully will crack on.

Am a tad excited.

Oh that's so exciting! Who will go into hospital with her?

RocketFire · 22/02/2020 21:30

ooh how lovely!

how do you think you'll feel seeing her in pain as she progresses?

OhLawdee · 22/02/2020 21:30

Oh how lovely!

Good luck!

I'm a doula so very used to birth. I have 6 DC, she is the eldest.

She suffers from gynae problems so I have accompanied her many times into A&E. This time it'll be for the best ever reason.

We're going to a birth centre and both myself and her dp will be with her. She's hoping to use the pool, she's good with pain.

I imagine it's going to be harder than with clients when it ramps up but we'll get her there. Can't wait to see her with her first born.

Woo hoo! There's nothing like being a grandparent. How close are you geographically? In our case they lived with us until he was nearly a year old, which was magical.

Ohyesiam · 23/02/2020 00:12

How exciting!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/02/2020 00:19

Yay. Keep us updated. Does she know what she's having.

managedmis · 23/02/2020 00:22

BlackeyedSusan · 23/02/2020 00:47

How close? Depends on how big their landing is!

@BlackeyedSusan: D'oh! RTFT fail Blush

OP, if you want my take on being a resident DGP, my thread in Classics www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2955799-To-clap-my-hands-and-skip-about-in-a-elephantine-manner was quite popular. Now he's 2.5 I've mostly stopped adding to it, but it was one the best times of my life.

Rainingdogsandcats · 23/02/2020 16:46

disgracetotheychromosone I read your thread. Absolutely loved it. Can't believe he's 2 and a half already.

So it tailed off in the early hours. DD is very fed up but still feeling irregular CTX so I'm happy things are progressing. Baby is active with normal movements. We've been and done the weekly shop and been out in the fresh air.

She's expecting her very own DD. Hopefully things will pick up again later.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/02/2020 23:35

oh goodness. the hospital frightened my contractions away at least twice.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/02/2020 23:37

@DisgraceToTheYChromosome

Ps. rtft fails happen here too, usually when the info is in the title.
