Going demented from sore throat

I have suffered with tonsillitis over the years but never pain like this. I've taken every painkiller I can, gargled, but it's no better. I went to bed at 9.30 but up and down all night.
Anyone any miraculous remedies?

Get them out! Haven't had a proper sore throat from when I was 15.

Best over the counter before you can get anti bs (assuming you need them) is Difflam gargle and Strefen lozenges - both behind counter but not prescription.
In dead of night if you don’t have them (and assuming it’s too sore for honey/lemon or salt gargle/ice cream etc) then crushed ice sucked hot or cold (whichever feels best) compress on neck plus parecetemol/strong pain killer if you can get it down.
You have my sympathy - life long tonsillitis sufferer and have had quinsy twice.
Not fun. Just keep remembering you will be better, it will go.

You need to see a doctor, but if you can explain the pain maybe someone can help in the interim. Is it purely in your throat? Does it feel dry or chesty etc

My 14 month old has this for the second time in a month.

He was up countless times last night, 15 at a guess if not more.

Tonsillitis is absolutely rotten, the pain is horrific. I feel for you.

You sound like you need antibiotics.
