Celebrating Easter with a Baby

Hi, FTM here. Just wondering how to celebrate Easter with a baby.

Normally we have special meals, a few Easter eggs and a cwtchy film for me and DH.

Now we have a 4 month old. She'll be nearly 6 months by Easter. Any suggestions? Growing up we always had an Easter tree so I'm going to do that this year for the first time in ages and a new outfit but I want to start some new traditions and was hoping we could pinch some of yours fellow mumsnetters 😁 tia

We give dc gifts of outdoor toys - both have winter birthdays. We bake running up to it, with recipes adapted to age - little ones 'make' Easter nests ie mix the bowl with help.

My babies first Easter we got him an outfit with a bunny on it and the book that's not my bunny instead of an egg. My daughter we did the outfit and got her tomy egg things that squeak. It was an age appropriate toy and an outfit basically.

I don't think we do Easter as big as you though. I just wanted a nice photo for of a first Easter. Do what you're happy with but don't stress as baby won't care.

Ooo I like the idea of outdoor toys. All the more reason to get DH to sort the garden!

I didn't think Easter was a big "thing"?

Mine get new clothes and I do an eater egg hunt...

We will bake and make Easter cards for grandparents.

We will also go to the church as I think it's important for my children to understand why Easter is so important to us as Christians.

What does an Easter tree look like? Do mean an indoor tree like a Christmas tree?

It's a German thing - not German but my dad served in the army over there, did it with my sister and the tradition continued when he came home.

We used to do the whole blowing egg thing and decorating them. We'll be doing that when DD is big enough.

I've always got DS a vaguely Easter themed toy- that's not my rabbit, the squeaky egg toy, a wooden rabbit and carrot counting game. I'm not a fan of giving him chocolate and he plays with the toy for ages.

I did put some bunny ears on him for a photo for his first Easter.
