Hello everyone Smile ,

My name is Rana Hadi and I'm a final year pharmacy student. I'm posting this message to invite you to help me with my final year project titled ‘Do parents follow NICE guidelines when assessing and treating fever in young children?’. The project involves filling in a questionnaire which will take about 2-5 minutes to complete. Your responses will be anonymous as your name is not required in order to complete this questionnaire.

You are being invited to take part in this research study. It is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it includes before you decide whether to participate. Please take time to read the following information carefully and please ask questions if anything you read is unclear or if you require more information.

Study title
Do parents follow NICE guidelines when assessing and treating fever in young children?

What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to assess if parents of young children aged less than 5 years old are aware of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines regarding fever and whether they are following these fever guidelines.

Why have I been chosen?
All parents of children under 5 years old have been invited to take part in the study

Do I have to take part?
No, it’s up to you. If you decide not to take part, there will be no negative consequences

What will happen if I decide to take part?
You will click on the hyperlink in the message posted, which will direct you to a questionnaire.
The questionnaire includes a series of questions about yourself, knowledge of fever, attitude and response toward fever, and how you assess and treat fever. The questionnaire duration will be about 2-5 minutes.

Will taking part in the study be kept confidential?
All data collected is anonymous, you cannot be linked to the answers you have provided. All data collected will be used and stored in accordance with the University of Brighton Guidance on issues in Research Ethics. The data provided will only be used in the student project and not for any other purpose.
