Where would put a sofa

In the process of moving and my new living room will be this layout (photo 1) I'm looking for a new sofa which I think will be a corner but not sure yet. I'm struggling with where to put it. I don't really like the current layout where the sofas are as I like to be straight ahead of tv. Would it look stupid to have part of the corner sofa in the middle of the room? Similar to the second picture? I would like to keep the tv where it is. Please help me with suggestions on what would look good. Not ruling out 2 3 seaters or a 2 and a 3. TIA

I think a corner sofa could like fine, as it will separate the 'dining area' from the 'lounge area'.

I'm with @Loch a corner sofa will look good and help create a separation of the room.

Agree too that a corner sofa (not an L shape though that could work) would look great. Your room is just a 180 degree flip of the model photo.

Two sofas at right angles to each other, i.e. one facing the TV would also work. If you have a large corner sofa and kids, there's the risk they'll jump over rather than walk round depending on the orientation of a corner sofa.

Our living room is very similar layout to the 2nd picture with a corner sofa, it works really well as it acts as a divide to the room.

@suzie779 What colour is that feature wall in your living room?

suzie779 · 21/02/2020 12:59

Thank you for the replies, I'm just concerned about ordering one and it not fitting properly but I think that's the way we will do it. @LizzieMacQueen it's the current owners photo so I'm not too sure what the colour is sorry!

Agree with Loch, will seperate the room more. I love the sofa's that are in there now.
