Any plumbers or heating people in the know?

Will my Baxi combi boiler work even though I have had to switch the water off at the mains?

Had a plumber earlier fit a new bathroom tap but the hot water tap was continuously seeping out water which has come through the bloody ceiling.

Don't want to be cold in the morning Sad

Not a plumber but because you have a combi boiler the hot water is direct meaning shutting the mains off will shut off the water.

Unless you have a water cylinder that's an indirect supply.

Ok thanks, don't want to damage anything. No water cylinder that was taken out years ago.

I would think that the heating will work (your radiators are a closed system) but hot water won't, obv.

Ok thanks. Not fussed about water just don't want kids to be cold in the morning.

I'm pretty sure it should be fine. I think the boiler and radiators are more or less a closed system, they don't need water adding all the time.

It's a combi, not like pixiedust says. Your radiator water is sealed and just gets heated in the boiler as it passes through. Taps won't heat though, all assuming the boiler is switched on and no one turns on taps in the night and the boiler faults itself

Thank you. I guess we will find out in the morning.

So bloody annoyed.
