College didn't send off my English Language remarks

So today i called the college and they told me they haven't even got my remark processed and i paid for it too nearly a month ago.

Today is the deadline and the exams office colleague told me she'll email them about it, but she goes they might or might not process it as they are quite strict with deadlines.

Today is the deadline and they know i've paid, so i'm sure they can send it off today?

I am really annoyed as i've eagerly been waiting for my remark only to find out that this has happened.

Hi There sufy123,

This sounds so frustrating for you - we're sorry to hear about this.

We wanted to pop in and offer our sympathy but also give this a bump for you as we bet some of our users have had similar experiences and would be able to offer you some support.

We hope you do get a remark and that it's the level you're hoping for!

@FlissMumsnet Hi, yes it really is frustrating. I signed paperwork and also paid on the 22nd of January and i thought all would be sorted by the College.

I rang the exams office in my College on the 20th of February, and they said it's too late blah blah, i can only offer you a refund cause AQA are quite strict on deadlines. I'm sure they could have processed it that day?

I am really annoyed and depressed that something like this has happened.

I'm gonna try phoning AQA and telling them of the situation and hope they do something about it.

Any advice what i could potentially do?

It's odd that it's the deadline, someone is in the exams office and it can't be processed. It takes 10 mins absolutely maximum to go in AQA website and apply for a review of Marling.
It's only your centre (college, school etc) that can apply for you. You won't get far with AQA probably because of that.
You need to complain to your Head of Centre usually head teacher or principal v quickly. Ask them to speak to aqa on behalf of the school and explain something has gone wrong with your application. That it was given in on time paid for etc. You dont want to be punished for whatever incompetence has appended in college.
How many marks were you off the next grade boundary?

Have you called AQA?

sufy123 · 22/02/2020 11:48

@PerkyPomsPoms No not yet. I can try on Monday as they are closed on weekends. You think it's worth a shot?

FE lecturer here. We don't usually request exam board for remarks unless you are at most two marks out for the next grade boundary. The exam boards mark very strictly and hardly any return with an improved grade. We had none at all for the November 2019 resit.

xsquared · 22/02/2020 12:04

Phone them up to see what they say.

I guess what I'm trying to say from my previous post is, don't be too disheartened if they decline because the chances are you will still get the same grade. Also, you'll have saved yourself the remark few.

Fee

sufy123 · 23/02/2020 21:44

@xsquared you never know, what if they've somehow not counted the marks properly or something? i know can be rare but worth a shot and saving me to another exam.

There is no edit button unfortunately!

You have nothing to lose by trying but like I said, don't be too upset if they say no.
