WTF is going on down there?! Way TMI

EnterFunnyNameHere · 20/02/2020 06:50

I have had a bit of itching down there for a week or so now. After judicious use of a mirror I've just seen that I have a big flesh coloured bulge all along my perineum joint onto my vulva.

WTF is that? It's a COMPLETE nightmare getting a Dr appointment as I need to leave for work before they are released for the day and I don't want to just start using medication down there in case it makes things worse!

Argh! Help!

Sounds like piles. Alternatively, the itching has caused hives. Try an antihistamine.

bilbodog · 20/02/2020 12:12

I dont know if mine is caused by straining to poo, maybe a little hernia or possibly a blocked hair follicle becomes infected which i get occasionally but antiseptic gets rid of it. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Varicose vein?

Sounds like genital warts if it's itchy, can lie dormant for years so might not be related to recent sexual partners

You’ll have to leave your house earlier so that when the phone lines open you’ve either arrived at work or are in a planned suitable location to park and make the call. Or a gum clinic would be a good alternative.

If it’s more urgent and you can’t get an appointment, call 111. They can either ask your GP to see you sooner (so your GP may give you more leeway) or arrange an out of hours appointment.

If you can wait, will your GP let you book an appointment in 3-4 weeks time?

dontgobaconmyheart · 20/02/2020 13:54

Tbh op it sounds like piles/a haemorrhoid. No harm in trying some anusol or similar (just avoid the vagina where possible) or try the suppository, it should stop the itching if it has the lidocaine in. They can be AWFUL.

Don't strain on the toilet, up your fibre, sitz bath, drink lots. Obviously see the doctor if it's not going, or full stop of you're worried.

EnterFunnyNameHere · 20/02/2020 16:53

Ugh, we'll it now itches everywhere. I'm wondering if it's thrush or something and everything is just generally swollen/inflamed?

Or maybe all of the above!

Going to see if I can work from home tomorrow and get an app. Trouble with going to work early and calling from there is if the available apps are in the morning I'll probably not be able to get back in time!

Canesten over night in case it's thrush.

If that doesn't help I'd apply a hot compress in case it's poppable follwed by some Savlon cream.

FrostyBamboo · 20/02/2020 17:01

So, do piles affect your vulva too? Very interested now as I get itching around the perenium and bumble, and ever so slightly on my vulva so always wondered if it truly was piles.

FrostyBamboo · 20/02/2020 17:02

*bumhole, not bumble.

Perenium & Bumble sounds like a company.

EnterFunnyNameHere · 20/02/2020 17:17

@FrostyBamboo I think they can if they are from weight/pregnancy, but not sure normally. I think I actually read on here you can get basically varicose veins in your bag which are pretty close to piles.

I don't think I have piles but who knows, way TMI but there is a definite not swollen gap between bumhole and swollen bit... I wonder if it's an infection and it's made everything swell a bit? It itches like billyo but a much bigger area - surely piles wouldn't cause fanjo itch?!?

Perenium & Bumble would definitely sell lovely soaps and trumpety tat...

Splurgle · 20/02/2020 17:22

My friend had shingles on her undercarriage Shock, I can't recall her other symptoms though...

FrostyBamboo · 20/02/2020 17:48

EnterFunnyNameHere I'll have you know I carry no varicose veins in my bag. Just receipts and lip balm like normal people.

EnidButton · 20/02/2020 18:00

Get to the doctor. Fannies and eyes are not to be guessed about. You need a professional. Do they do late emergency appointments? I think it warrants one.

EnidButton · 20/02/2020 18:01

Perenium & Bumble

Definitely an interior design company. Bet they do lovely paint.

Laiste · 20/02/2020 18:25

I had a Bartholin cyst once. About the size of a small pea.

I applied bonjella to it (slightly eyewatering) but it went completely numb and i jabbed a sterilised needle into it. Wow! The relief.

Doesn't sound like that's what you've got though OP.
Good luck with it anyhoo Flowers

Qwerty543 · 20/02/2020 20:07

I had a bartholins cyst once too. It was agony. Not sure if it is this but I was advised to take salt water baths, as hot as I could stand it. Maybe worth a try anyway?

Horsemad · 20/02/2020 22:23

Some of the typos/autocorrects on here have made me smile!

No advice OP, other than get to a GP!!

Tellingitlikeitisnt · 20/02/2020 22:24

OP it’s a prolapse!
What you are seeing if the vaginal wall

Push it back in! And if you cough or bear down it will come down more?

Assuming you have been pregnant and esp of had a vaginal delivery then it’s super common.
Get the GP to have a look and confirm but I bet that’s what you are seeing

Tellingitlikeitisnt · 20/02/2020 22:26

Meant to say that they look like a flesh coloured ball coming out the vagina

Is that what you are seeing?

EnterFunnyNameHere · 21/02/2020 09:22

@Tellingitlikeitisnt no nothing like that, it's more like a ridge of skin swollen up on my perineum all the way up to the bottom of the vulva...

I got a Dr app this morning, so might finally get somewhere (can you bear the tension)

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2020 09:28

Good luck OP, I am sure they'll have the answer.

EnterFunnyNameHere · 21/02/2020 10:10

So doctor thinks thrush (although did also say lots of things can cause various swelling/itching) so am waiting at the pharmacy for some cream to hopefully help.

I really really hope he's right and I can get this resolved soon. I never appreciated how debilitating just being itchy could be Sad

OP posts:
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/02/2020 11:07

Bad thrush is horrendous, don't underestimate it! Cotton undies,no shower gel/soap and no sanitary pads like Always with a plastic coating. Cut out fabric softener too if you use it. A probiotic helps too ime.

Hope it clears up soon. Oh and if you have a partner then he need to treat himself too with the cream or he'll pass it back to you.
